Partner for peace? You’re having a laugh?

How can anybody, or any nation for that matter, make peace with those so full of base hatred that they, fill their children’s heads with exhortations to violence.  Not stories of historical violence or folk tales or fantasy, but lessons carefully constructed to teach hatred and ultimately violence in the here and now.  The phrase that pops into my head when I see Palestinian children’s television is ‘child abuse’.  Teaching children to revere death rather than life cannot be anything but child abuse.

Palestinian Media Watch said:

“During Ramadan, Palestinian Authority TV broadcast an Egyptian cartoon series for children called The Raids of Prophet Muhammad.

One episode taught children that the Devil and the Jews were on the same side, both desiring the defeat of Muhammad. The cartoon shows the Devil ecstatic because he saw that the Jews who were filled with “hate and loathing” for Muhammad schemed to unite the Arab-pagan tribes to fight Muhammad. “

Actions are certainly speaking louder than words here.  Words of peace are spoken but hatreds continue to be stoked up.
