Possible Jihad attack at World War One memorial in Canada.

Some news sources, including Jihadwatch, are reporting that shots have been fired at Canadian troops who make up the ceremonial guard for the tomb of the unknown soldier in Ottawa, Canada.

Details are at this moment quite sketchy but it appears that one of the two soliders guarding the tomb was hit and that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are desperately looking for the shooter.

See this from the eCanada site.

There have been reports that soldier in Ottawa has been shot.

A soldier has been shot at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, E Canada Now has learned.

Several medics are performing CPR on the soldier.

There is a shooter on the loose,” a police officer in the area told the Post‘s John Ivison.”

Jihadwatch has also covered this story and said:

This may turn out to have nothing to do with the Islamic State’s threats or with the Canadian hit-and-run jihadi who murdered a Canadian soldier a few days ago. But given those threats and that jihad murder, a jihad connection here cannot immediately be ruled out.

Shots fired at Canada war memorial. Soldier seen falling,” by Adam Button, ForexLive, October 22, 2014:

Shots have been fired and a soldier was seen falling at the Canadian war memorial. The story is breaking on Bloomberg headlines, they also note that police are on the scene.

The early report says the attack is near Parliament which means it’s probably at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa, which is guarded by usually two soldiers 24 hours per day. They’d be a target if someone was looking to kill Canadian soldiers.

Earlier this week, a soldier was killed by a radical Islamist at a Canadian shopping centre.

ISIS has called for followers in other countries to attack.”

As this attack is very close in time to another Jihad attack on Canadian troops that there may be a Jihad motivation behind this shooting cannot be ruled out.

This is a developing story. Will cover in more detail later. If this does turn out to be another Jihad attack then all I can say is I hope swift retribution descends on the savages who have done this or who have encouraged this.

  1. Canadian citizen here. The soldier (Corporal Nathan Cirillo) has unfortunately passed away due to his injuries. The gunman went into the parliament building but was shot dead by the Sergeant-At-Arms. Here are some details on the gunman, Michael Zahef-Bibeau:
    1) Known to the police for a while for a long list of criminal charges.
    2) Recently converted to Islam
    3) An supposed picture of him was uploaded on a French-language pro-ISIS Twitter account. Interestingly enough, the same account was followed by the nutcase that ran down two soldiers a couple of days ago.

Hope the info I provided helped, and keep up the good work.

Dear Pete, Thank you for your comment, and please accept condolences for the loss of two of your soldiers by Islamic scum. Thank you also for your compliment. I shall do an updated post on this issue later today.

      • Thank you. Thank you very much. We’ve had support pouring from pretty much all over the world. The sad thing is that this isn’t the first time I’ve been scared of a terrorist attack. I lived in Israel for four years.

  2. And it’s notable that the usual suspects hit the ground running with their excuses…

Yep. You’ve also had the same usual suspects whining about a potential backlash against Canadian Muslims. To them I would say that maybe if Muslims were not consistently, violent, arrogant, terroristic, seditious and a bit rapey, then maybe they would not have to worry about ‘backlash’. However, as we saw in Britain after the murder of Lee Rigby by Muslims, the number of actual physical attacks, as opposed to people saying nasty but true things about Islam on the internet, was very small.
