Who’d have thought it, a Lib Dem pussy-footing around when it comes to Islamic hate preachers.

The case of ‘Murdering Mohammed’ Emwazi’, otherwise known to the media as ‘Jihadi John’ has brought the subject of Islamic extremism on University campuses to a much higher public profile.

For years various groups and individuals ranging from bloggers to groups like Student Rights have spoken out against both the growth of Islamic extremism and the regular promotion of Islamic hate-preachers by various college Islamic Societies.

However, for those who have been observing the Bearded Savages of Islam for a while know that this has been a problem that has been long in the growing. Administrators of universities and colleges have been either unable or unwilling to crack down on Muslims who foment hatred, cause division and encourage sedition, possibly because these administrators fear the accusation of ‘racism’. Islamic extremists have taken advantage of this politically correct paralysis and have often promoted hate preachers who call for the death or enslavement of Jews and Christians, death for gays, oppression for women and much more, with very little, if any sanction from the management of the educational institutions concerned.

This political correctness has helped to create an appalling problem where Student Islamic Societies are considered untouchable. This has in some cases allowed them to be free to do things, such as hold gender segregated meetings on college property, that would be instantly protested if they had been done by any other non-Muslim groups.

It is becoming pretty obvious to anyone who takes an interest in such matters that British higher and further educational institutions have a serious problem with campus jihadism and that something really needs to be done. However, it seems as if the soft on terror Liberal Democrats have had an attack of the vapours about taking action with Lib Dem cabinet ministers, Business Secretary Vince Cable and Energy Minister Ed Davey, objecting to Government plans citing free speech concerns.

This is an absolute joke and a cynical wrecking move by the Lib Dems possibly in order to pander to and chase the Left/Islamic vote. We already have a culture of un-free speech on British campuses with the political Left firmly in control of who says what to students. Woe betide the speaker or potential speaker who espouses views of a patriotic, nationalist, conservative or libertarian nature or those who challenge the politically correct orthodoxy that infests our education system. There seem to be no ‘free speech concerns’ when it comes to restricting the rights of the opponents of leftist orthodoxy. Music, newspapers, magazines, websites, and visiting speakers that the lefty offendotrons dislike or disagree with are routinely banned by student unions.

In the context of the current culture of un-free speech in universities and colleges, restricting the access by Islamic hate-preachers to students in education institutions would not be the sort of damaging imposition that the Lib Dems say it would be. On the contrary such a move would send a message to jihadists and their promoters and supporters that the game has changed and that Islamic hate-preachers would no longer be allowed to promote their death cult to young people.

It’s very easy to be disgusted by the activities of the Lib Dems and they give us a lot to be disgusted about. The list of Lib Dem dodgy-ness grows day by day and they have an unenviable history of sex pests, dirty tricks, paedophiles, dishonest campaigning, and personal misrepresentation by candidates, the most famous example of which was the bisexual Simon Hughes running his ‘Hughes, the straight choice for Bermondsey’ campaign against Peter Tatchell back in the 1980’s.

At a time when Britain faces an enormous threat from Jihadis and their fellow travellers in the Muslim community, this ‘toys out of the pram’ episode from the Lib Dems is at best naïve and at worst semi-treasonous.
