Zita Holbourne, the violent, ugly, intolerant face of the Left in Britain.
Years ago in Britain, a large part of the grassroots of the political Left was made up of ordinary patriotic working class people, primarily concerned about fair issues of pay, access to decent homes and a better future for their families. This most people would consider to be the decent Left. Yes it was a little socially conservative, but it reflected the mores and culture of the working men and women who supported it. Now the British Left has been eviscerated and its traditional supporters driven away by those who place ideological issues, such as identity politics, over and above the practical issues that many working class people would like to see the Left working on. Issues such as decent working conditions, decent homes and the sort of quality education that allows a hard-working son or daughter of a manual worker to progress out of poverty are pushed to one side in favour of race, gender and sexuality issues that have very little to do with what ordinary people are concerned about.
What passes for the Left today seems to be completely dominated by a loud, often parasitical, cadre of intolerant, middle-class, nation-hating, violent scum that we saw in action over the weekend hassling Nigel Farage and his family. This is the ugly face of the new Left that has not only targeted Mr Farage and violently attacked UKIP constituency offices and activists, but has so often, especially in recent years, turned out for all the wrong causes.
When you realise that the groups aligned with the modern British Left, and I include the Labour Party in that category, have over the last four decades:
Turned out to violently protest against those angry at police inaction in the face of Islamic Rape Gangs.
Violently protested against those concerned about the intrusion of Shariah Law into British society
Have physically and verbally attacked, demonised and excluded, those who are concerned about both excessive levels, and inappropriate types of immigration into Britain.
Have, by way of, Leftist dominated teachers unions, teacher training colleges and other educational institutes turned British state education from something that was admired, into something that we should be deeply ashamed of.
Have changed our justice system into an injustice system, where criminals are sheltered by various rights acts and where the innocent victims of crime are in effect punished twice for being victims. First by being the victim of a crime and secondly by seeing the criminal effectively unpunished. Leftist influence on the justice system has also removed the death penalty, and diluted the effect of the life sentences that we were told was an effective replacement for the death penalty.
Have overused and indeed misused the word ‘racist’ and have used it to try to silence anybody who disagrees with Leftist ideologues.
Have brought in hate-crime offences which have not only done little to protect the people we were told it would help, but which are often implemented unevenly and unequally favouring whatever groups are flavour of the month with the Left. We’ve also seen the introduction, by the Left, of hate-speech offences which have had a monstrously chilling effect on free speech and like hate-crime offences are often implemented unevenly. We can see this how Islamic preachers are given virtual carte blanche to promulgate hatred against Jews, heterodox Muslims, women, non-Muslims and indeed the nation of Britain itself. However, challenge these Islamic hate-preachers or speak up against the sort of problems that Islam has brought to the UK, no matter how peacefully is the challenge and there is a strong likelihood that the challenger will be arrested by the police.
Have brought to fruition a welfare system that penalises the thrifty and hardworking and those who have paid into the communal pot but rewards the profligate, the criminal, the workshy, the foreigner and those who are able to game the system.
The Left have attacked traditional families, devalued familial stability and made marriage into an institution that is increasingly not cost effective for many couples to enter. They have encouraged the creation of single parent families many of whom are woefully ill-prepared or ill-equipped, emotionally, educationally or financially, for the difficult and draining work of bringing up children.
This is by no means an extensive or complete list of the damage done by what could reasonably called post-1968 Leftism, you, the reader could probably add your own to this list.
All these evils, that have either been created or encouraged by post-68 Leftists are supported by the likes of Zita Holbourne, Chris Baugh, Dan Glass and Mike Kear and the others who took part in this disgraceful event. That, as well as the targeting of Nigel Farage and his family definitely earn them the description ‘scum’.
The only bright spot in this whole affair is that by their own actions these fraggles have not only shown the public as a whole the truly ugly and repulsive face of Britain’s leftists, but have probably helped UKIP gain many more votes from the fair-minded Britons who without doubt, outnumber this scum.

Hi Cowboy, and welcome to Fahrenheit211. I read the article from ‘Bastard’ and I didn’t like it because it seemed to be gloating at the family Farage’s treatment at the hands of the left wing good squad. That site does seem to have a lot of animus against UKIP presumably for their own political reasons. However, my opinion is that what ever UKIP’s faults (and like all political parties they have faults) they are the current best hope for challenging the leftist blob in both politics and administration. The author of ‘bastard’ is entitled to his opinion just as you and I are entitled to ours.

HI KC, good to hear from you again. Most of this list does indeed look like the line-up of Marxism 2015 and many of them are involved with or are supportive of the SWP and its front groups. Stand Up to UKIP does indeed look like an SWP front.
The only name on that list I would wish to comment on is that of Leon Silver for the following reasons. Although he is listed as president of East London Central Synagogue in reality he is just a jobbing actor who acts as the caretaker of the building, he occupies no position of religious authority. As an aside, ELCS’s building needs urgent repair and in order to get cash from the Muslim controlled Tower Hamlets council, Leon Silver probably needs to play the ‘bagels and bajis’ interfaith game to keep on side with the Islamists who run the council. I can’t believe that the traditionalist and conservative minded Federation of Synagogues, which has authority over ECLS, would line up alongside the lefty thugs of UAF or ‘stand up to UKIP’. I have some local knowledge of Tower Hamlets and it should be remembered that the East London Mosque, which has a lot of political power in Tower Hamlets, has a long and dishonourable reputation for using adherents to other faiths including Christians and Jews and links with interfaith groups as ‘human shields’. When ELM has been caught out putting on hate preachers or running, supporting or publicising pro-jihad events they wheel out naive Christians, Jews and others to say ‘well, the ELM are not like that really and I’m sure that it must be a genuine mistake’ or other similar guff.
