There were two stories that I noticed on the Breitbart front page recently that really sum up just what is wrong with Islam and why Islamic culture is so incompatible and unwelcome in free Western societies. The first concerns an Imam in Denmark who arrogantly demands that the Danes bend to Islamic will and allow underage girls to marry because such ‘marriages’ are part and parcel of Islamic culture. The second is about an Islamic reformer who was hounded out of their mosque in London with threats of violence because he has joined the ranks of the Islamic liberals of Quilliam.
Both these stories show just why Islam, especially mainstream Islam, cannot and should not be tolerated by non-Muslim societies. In Western societies, sex with children is considered as a crime and the paedophile is seen as someone as who is a heinous criminal. Not so within Islam. Islam really has no solid prohibition, either from their foundational texts nor through social custom, against sex with girls who many in the West would consider as underage. When it comes to Islam the attitude is ‘if Mohammed had relations with a nine year old girl then it must be OK’. Well here in the West having sex with nine year olds is not acceptable and we should not tolerate Islamic clerics who say that it is.

“Child brides being brought to Europe by their often considerably older migrant husbands are to be separated in Denmark, but one high profile Imam is urging the government to accept “that it is a different culture”.
A number of recent cases where marriages of adult men to girls as young as 14 years of age, sanctioned by the Danish state, has become a national scandal. Now, right-wing immigration minister Inger Støjberg has vowed the children will be protected in future, with couples where one of the parties is under 18 being separated whether they have already arrived in Denmark or not — although the age of consent in the country is just 15.
“It is completely unacceptable that there are currently minors within the Danish asylum system living with their spouses or partners and I have asked the Danish Immigration Service to immediately put a stop to it”, said Støjberg this week. “
So far, just the normal story of political correctness and multiculturalism taken to extremes. However, an Imam stepped into the fray with a comment that shows that many Islamic attitudes and much of Islamic culture is not compatible with Western society.
Brietbart continued:
“Despite the strong Danish reaction to the practice of marrying children among some migrants, Imam Oussama El-Saadi of the Aarhus mosque has said the Danish government must relax their laws and respect migrant families, whatever age the brides are.
Speaking to Danish newspaper Metroxpress, the Imam said: “One should look at these cases from a different perspective. It is an extraordinary humanitarian situation, and I think you have to take care of these families. They’re married, and even if the man is twice as old as they have built a family. We have to accept that it is a different culture, and we can not destroy family life”.
This particular Islamic savage we can ascertain sees nothing wrong with older men preying on young girls and unfortunately his attitude is not a minority one when it comes to Islam. Across Europe we are seeing adult Muslim men targeting girls who are under the age of consent in their particular countries, and it is yet more evidence that Islam is not compatible with civilised societies.
The other story from Brietbart that shows how incompatible tat Islam is with our nations and our cultures is one from London. An Islamic reformer has found out the hard way that quite a lot of Islam and Muslims is intolerant of anything except versions of Islam that we in the West could quite reasonably call ‘extreme’. Imam Dr Salah al-Ansari was forced to resign his pulpit at the Palmers Green Mosque in North London after joining the Quilliam anti extremism after he received threats from other Muslims.
Breitbart said:
“A Quilliam source has confirmed to Breitbart London that the threats were part of a “coordinated campaign” against the liberal Muslim. The source said the organisation has “screen shots” of online messages that were circulated, alleging that there may be proof the threats were organised.”
It would not surprise me one little bit to find out that these threats were organised. The British Muslim community contains within it a large number of people who not only support an extremist view of Islam but also support violent jihad. Such people will do whatever it takes to silence Islamic moderates or those Muslims who wish to take a heterodox view of the ideology.
Breitbart added:
“Dr. Al-Ansari is the former imam of London Central Mosque, who has also worked as a lecturer in Islamic studies at Heythrop College, University of London. It was announced that he had joined Quilliam as a researcher in their Theology and Outreach team just days ago.
However, the popular imam faced an immediate and ferocious backlash from conservative and Islamist Muslims on social media for engaging with the think tank, which advises the government on radicalisation and counter terrorism. He announced on Twitter last night: “Due 2 physical threats (outside the mosque)I have decided 2 resign.Despite requests 2 stay.”
The fact that this moderate, reforming Muslim Imam has been treated in this way in London speaks volumes about the character of the wider Muslim community in the UK. We seem to have a surfeit of nut-jobs eager for jihad and aggressive expansion and a dearth of reformers and liberals like Dr Al-Ansari.
Both these stories in their own individual ways show us why much of orthodox Islamic theology and a lot of Islamic culture is not fitted to Western societies. When religious leaders say that child-sex is OK and where those Muslims who are dedicated to dealing with Islamic literalism and the violence that such a path leads to are threatened in the street then that should give us all concern. We should ask ourselves one really important question in the light of these two cases and that is can we seriously be expected to coexist with those who believe that sex with children is permissible or that those who interpret Islam in a liberal way should be harassed.
