The length of time that Royal Air Force airman Corrie McKeague has been missing is giving many people, not least his family, grave cause for concern. Mr McKeague has not contacted anybody who he is likely to have contacted and has not been seen since he went out of CCTV coverage in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk in late September. Corrie McKeague, has apparently disappeared from the face of the earth and this is causing all sorts of speculation as to what may have happened to him. Here’s a report from the Cambridge News with Mr McKeague’s mother speculating that there may have been a ‘third party’ involved in Corrie’s disappearance. As is usual policy for this blog the original text of the report is in italics wheras this blog’s comments are in plain text.

The Cambridge News said

The mother of missing airman Corrie McKeague says there was “third party involvement” in her son’s disappearance.

Nicola Urquhart, who is herself a police officer, says Suffolk Police believe the 23-year-old RAF Honington man is no longer in Bury St Edmunds, where he was last seen, and did not leave on foot.

She posted on Facebook yesterday: “Police are confident Corrie is not still in Bury and has not left on foot.

“This can only mean there is third party involvement, there is just no evidence so far to prove criminality.

I’m afraid I have to agree with Ms Urquhart the disappearance does look like it may have involved a third party.

As such I would ask people to help me find this evidence as someone does know something.”

Corrie was last seen at 3.24am in Brentgovel Street, Bury St Edmunds, on Saturday, September 24. His phone has been traced to Barton Mills near Newmarket using data, but has not yet been located.

Corrie’s family and police are asking anyone who might have information about the airman’s disappearance to come forward.

The have now tracked down three teenagers who were seen in the area the morning of Corrie’s disappearance, and will be speaking to them.

Nicola told the News on Friday that she did not believe terrorism was involved in his disappearance.

She said: “Terrorists don’t take people and hide them. They shout about it.”

I disagree on that point. Muslim terrorists shouting about their captures or their activities is what many of them have done so far. The fact that there may be a tactical change in behaviour from Muslim terrorists on this matter should not be completely ruled out. It is not beyond the realms of possiblity that Muslim terrorists may capture a target, whether that be a service person or a police officer or a private citizen and hang onto them and keep them secret until such a time when it may be advantageous for the group of Muslims to do so. When it comes to Islamic terrorism we are dealing with a very slippery enemy who doesn’t always act as expected and is well aware of the necessity to not carry out terrorist actions in the same manner each time.

Corrie was wearing a pink shirt and white trousers the night he disappeared. He speaks with a Scottish accent and his family say he is outgoing and would go up to people to chat.

Like many others I pray that Mr McKeague will be found safe and well, but the longer he is missing then the greater is the likelihood that something terrible has happened to him. I don’t think that terrorism can be completely discounted at this stage as there have been previous attempts by people of ‘middle eastern appearance’ ie Muslims to snatch British service personnel. Time will tell all I suppose but in the meantime someone must know what has happened to Mr McKeague and also why he has been missing for so long and maybe they should now speak up.
