It’s on for 30th January 2017 – The trial when free speech fights against Phoney Fiyaz Mughal and his Empire of Lies

Regular readers will be aware of the recent pre-trial Crown Court hearing in the case of Tim Burton of the Liberty GB party and the founder of the disgraced and provably dishonest Tell Mama ‘Islamophobia’ group, Fiyaz Mughal. This is a very important case as it pits the right for British citizens such as Tim Burton to speak freely and even crack jokes, a right bought for us at great cost by our ancestors, and a thin-skinned mountebank whose organisations have become a byword for false or dubious claims of ‘Islamophobia’.

I’ve just received an update from Mr Burton’s supporters and I shall publish it in full below but first I’d like to emphasise just how and why this case is so important. This is not just a contest between Fiyaz Mughal one of Britain’s most notable ‘Islamophobia’ exaggerators and a critic but is one between our right to speak freely and those like Mughal who would censor criticism not only of themselves but about Islam in general. To recap he situation, Mr Burton is being dragged before the courts because Fiyaz Mughal objected to a joke job application and some mockery at Fiyaz Mughal and Tell Mama’s expense. Mughal is objecting to emails mocking him but which in no way threatened him or could conceivably cause Mughal ‘alarm or distress’. The communications were as far as I can make out were of a humorous nature and not anything that a normal person would take much trouble about. In my opinion an organisation like Tell Mama, which has previously lost public money for lying and exaggerating the number and severity of alleged ‘hate crimes’ against Muslims should not be able to use the law to silence critics.

This looks to me like a ‘bullshit’ type of charge that has been brought by Mughal and his dodgy mates in the police and Crown Prosecution Service and also one where Mughal has quite obviously exaggerated the effects of being the subject of a joke. In fact I’d go as far as to say that either Mughal is a particularly weak and brittle character who is unable to either take a joke or to accept criticism (in which case he should maybe not be involved in the rough and tumble of public life) or that he is an out and out liar. If its the first scenario then it shows that Mughal is an unsuitable person to occupy and cannot cope with a managerial or directorial position in a high profile organisation. If it’s the second scenario then he is bringing this case, not because he’s been ‘harassed’ or has genuinely been caused ‘alarm’ but because he wishes to silence Mr Burton who is a particularly stubborn critic of both Fiyaz Mughal and Tell Mama. In that case Mughal is plainly abusing the criminal legal process (allegedly by using contacts within the Crown Prosecution Service to bring the case) for dishonest personal gain and is a perversion of justice.

We must hope that the jury trying this case sees it for what it is which is a blatant attempt by one of Britain’s most mendacious grievance mongering taqiyya artists, Fiyaz Mughal to shut up one of the growing number of people for whom Tell Mama is seen as a shorthand way of saying a tall tale ‘a saga of complete and utter unbelievable bollocks’

Here’s the update on the the Tim Burton case from some of Mr Burton’s supporters.

We now have the latest news concerning the Liberty GB representative Tim Burton and his upcoming trial at Southwark Crown Court, which has now been set for Monday 30 January 2017. Tim attended the Court on Thursday 03 November at the PTPH (pre-trial preparatory hearings) and the revised indictment can now be published.

Apparently, the prosecution – that is to say, the Crown Prosecution Service and the Metropolitan Police on behalf of Fiyaz Mughal, the Mendacious Grievance-Mongering Taqiyya-Artist-In-Chief at Tell Mama UK, an organisation whose primary goal is to fudge and manipulate data in order to secure large amounts of taxpayers’ money – are determined to see the “racist, bigoted, far-right Islamophobe” Tim Burton behind bars for having the temerity to offend an influential Muslim, and have amended the charge sheet accordingly:

TIMOTHY MARTIN BURTON is charged as follows:

RELIGIOUSLY AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT, contrary to section 32(1)(a) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998

TIMOTHY MARTIN BURTON between the 3rd day of April 2016 and the 20th day of April 2016 pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of Fiyaz Mughal and which he knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of him, by sending Fiyaz Mughal a number of unsolicited emails containing Islamophobic and other offensive material and the offence was wholly or partly motivated by hostility towards members of a religious group, namely Muslims and Fiyaz Mughal’s membership of that group.

This is quite an interesting development, not least because the definition of “Islamophobia” is somewhat problematic – interested readers may wish to peruse the following PDF – – and we invite you to submit your comments via the Liberty GB website. There is also the question of whether the contents of the emails constituted harassment at all – in terms of being likely to inspire fear, alarm or distress in any reasonable person, or whether they could be said to be of a threatening or aggressive nature. We invite you to evaluate these emails for yourself at

There are other philosophical considerations such as – the question of what constitutes “offensive” material when what offends one person may not offend another – and the question of whether hostility is exhibited towards members of a religious group, or merely exhibited towards the ideas that make up the political ideology of Islam. Again, we invite you to submit your comments via the Liberty GB website.

We will continue to bring you all the latest news and to keep you informed of all developments as and when they occur.

In the meantime, here is Tim in a video interview with the investigative reporter Vlad Tepes, who runs a particularly hard-hitting and well-respected counter-jihad website at

Once again, Tim would like to thank all those who have contributed to his Legal Defence Fund to date – without your help it would have been even more stressful and traumatic for Tim than it otherwise has been – however we still have a long way to go to cover all the costs associated with the Crown Court trial, and any further assistance that you may be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

As always, Tim will respond personally to every gesture of support. Please continue to support this cause – all our freedoms are at stake if Tim is found guilty by the Court. It is becoming increasingly apparent that this is a politically motivated show trial designed to make an example of Tim, and to discourage the rest of us from exercising our right to Freedom of Speech in this country.

Thank you once again for all your support. Please continue to spread the word in whatever way you can!

As I said earlier this case is of vital importance not just for Mr Burton but to all of us. If he loses this case then it will be a green light for every sort of Islamic extremist scummer and troublemaker to bring criminal cases for ‘harassment’ against critics, even where, as with the case of Tell Mama that criticism is more than justifiable. Mr Burton is not just fighting to keep himself out of prison but to defend all our rights to speak freely whether that be about Islam or anything else.
