Video – An analysis of Theresa May’s post London Bridge statement

Here’s a really good analysis of the speech that Prime Minister Theresa May following the London Bridge Islamic attack. It’s by Simon Harris who is a You Tube commentator who has in the past talked a lot of sense about the threat of the ideology of Islam. Like me Mr Harris comes from a formerly left background and also like me opposes Islam but also opposes adversely judging people by the colour of their skin.

Mr Harris said that we need to be honest about the motivation of some Muslim politicians and how they work primarily for Islam and not the rest of us. This is to the detriment of everyone else. He agreed with Mrs May that we need to have a conversation about Islam and the fact that Islam has become a fifth column in British politics, needs to become a party political issue. Mr Harris also points out the foolishness of concentrating on internet censorship of ‘extremist’ content whilst doing nothing to stop the radicalisation that is going on in Islamic communities and in mosques.

Mr Harris is correct when he says that there needs to be specific laws aimed fairly and squarely at Islam and its followers. After all it’s only Islam that is a problem. Maybe we do need a modern version of the Popery Act of 1698 that put restrictions on Roman Catholics at a time when Roman Catholicism was seen as both a political and military threat? Some form of legal disabilities may need to be applied to Islam, and only Islam, if things are to get better and not worse. Mr Harris is right when he says that there shouldn’t be punishment for all Britons for problems that are most often coming from the followers of Islam. These problems, as Mr Harris said, are not problems related to skin colour or are problems related to Sikhs or Hindus or Jews or any other minority religious groups, they are purely and simply Islam problems.

Along with the recognition that the terror and insurgency problems we are suffering from are almost entirely Islam-related and are nothing to do with race, I also agree with Mr Harris when he says that it is vital for government to start to properly and effectively tackle Britain’s Islam problems before we end up with hotheads taking the law into their own hands. No sensible person wants to see vigilantism or violent conflict whether that be religious or political, but it’s what we may get if Britain, and indeed Europe’s, Islam related problems are not effectively tackled.
