Friday Night Movie Number 9 – 633 Squadron.

It’s Friday and it’s time for another classic or interesting movie. Today’s offering is the World War II action film, 633 Squadron.

IMDB describes the plot thus:

633 Squadron has enjoyed an unqualified string of successes. Their luck changes when they are assigned to bomb a German rocket fuel plant, in Norway which is guarded by heavy anti-aircraft defences, and the plant is considered bomb-proof. Their nearly impossible mission is further complicated by a German air raid, the difficult approach to the target and the capture and torture of the underground leader who is assisting the squadron.

A brilliant film which I’ve watched loads of times. Great theme music, exciting flying sequences and plenty of action. I hope you like it as much as I do.

I can’t embed this film as embedding has been disabled for this file but click the link below to watch 633 Squadron.

  1. One of my favourites – that theme is unmistakeable!

  2. Was it Eric Coates who composed the music?

I do not know who composed it, but I remember, way back, at 12 years old, I got given a VERY basic record player (remember them?) and my first L.P was a collection of tunes. One of which was “633 Squadron, along with Dambusters, Bridge over the river quia (SP????), Florence of Arabia, etc.

Our neighbours SOON got sick of hearing it at all hours of the day…. 😀

        All fabulous tunes.

Surely not. My apologies, FT. I had imagined you playing Auf der Heide blüht ein kleines Blümelein…dressed in Pickelhaube at your open window.

  3. Great film. Thanks.
