Citizens UK – Working against Britons and our national interests.

Dangerous and destructive organisations, or entities whose ideas constitute a threat to the rest of us, do not always have to be high profile. The most troublesome campaigning groups are sometimes not the ones that are constantly featured on the broadcast news or in print. Some of the most troubling, naïve, anti-British, pro-Islam campaigners are very much below the radar of the general public.

One organisation that comes into the category of being virtually unknown to much of the public is Citizens UK (CUK). Citizens UK promotes itself as interested in ‘reweaving the fabric of society’. The problem is what they are trying to ‘reweave’ our society into, is something that will horrify many people.

First, a little background. Citizens UK is an umbrella organisation whose membership is primarily open to groups who agree with its aims. They’ve been very successful in getting many disparate groups on board since they started out in East London in the mid 1990s. They began as ‘London Citizens’ in 1996 and have expanded since then. They first came to public prominence in 2010 when the leaders of all three major parties addressed an audience of London Citizens members. Further information on the history of London Citizens and Citizens UK can be found over at Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_UK

Citizens UK are one of those organisations that, to paraphrase the words of JRR Tolkein in Lord of the Rings, look fair, but like a turd with some very thick gilding, smells seriously foul when you start to scratch the surface. Citizens UK blather on about the ‘common good’, but are actively involved in pressing the government to take in more and more ‘Syrians’, trying to increase Muslim involvement in politics, and have been involved in ‘amnesty for illegals’ campaigns.

I’m at a loss to work out how and why encouraging the importation of those who’ve proved to be troublesome elsewhere in Europe, is in anyway ‘enhancing the public good’? They are also trying to use their membership to infuence local elections in 2016 in order to advance the agenda of Citizens UK. Some members, especially leadership members of CUK, are not just involved in the sort of Lefty ‘diversity’ politics that have done so much damage to the UK already, but have actively run political cover for Islamic extremists. The founder of CUK, Neil Jameson, has been wheeled out to defend the extremist linked East London Mosque on various occasions when the East London Mosque has been caught out hosting some of the most vile hate preachers imaginable. ELM love Neil Jameson and CUK because they do a lot of the heavy lifting work when it comes to diverting attention away from ELM’s extremism problems. All in all CUK are an organisation that should give those opposed to Leftism, opposed to the resettlement of troublesome ‘refugees’ and critical of Islamification, a lot to be concerned about.

CUK have been very successful in sweeping up the ‘great and the good’, various ‘do gooders’, and some functionaries and followers of the more Leftist branches of Christianity and Judaism. CUK publications and events are stuffed full of foolish naïve Vicars whose ever other word is ‘diversity’ or ‘coexistence’. CUK have also been successful in getting on board the sort of extreme Left Wing Reform and Liberal Jewish Rabbi’s that seem to be a bit more inclined towards ‘Marx’ rather than ‘Moshe Rabbainu’ (Moses the teacher). I believe that it is utterly short sighted for Jewish groups to get involved with CUK. This is because CUK’s actions and policies will eventually bring about a situation that will not be good for Jews or anyone else in Britain for that matter. I also believe that CUK’s policy of encouraging Islam and encouraging Muslims to involve themselves in politics, is not only dangerously stupid, but goes against the Jewish commandment to ‘seek the peace of the city in which you live’. My question to CUK and the Rabbonim who support it is this: If you are encouraging those whose path is plainly not that of peace, and Islam is so obviously NOT a path of peace, how then is that ‘seeking the peace of the city in which you live or in which you find yourself?’ For me supporting Islam and seeking the peace of the city are two mutually exclusive concepts.

I also question the involvement of Christian clerics in CUK for similar reasons. Many of the campaigns that CUK are involved in are inherently destructive to our society. Their pro-Islam and pro-immigration campaigns make life much more difficult and dangerous for many ordinary Britons, especially Christian Britons who have the misfortune to live in some of Britain’s more Islamified areas.

CUK’s ‘Living Wage campaign’ is another problem for me. Their ‘living wage campaign’ whilst seeming like it is addressing the issue of poverty, is likely to cause even more poverty when small firms realise that they cannot afford to hire or retain staff at an economically sensible rate. Giving everyone more money sounds nice, but is economic nonsense at the end of the day and is counter-productive if companies, sometimes struggling companies, are being forced to pay people £8.00+/hour for work that is only worth £5.00/hour. You can see here how CUK is not just dangerous politically, socially and hostile to our security, but also how they are economically dangerous as well.

To get a flavour of CUK and an indication of how they are burrowing into the political fabric of society then I’ve put some scans of their latest national newsletter at the bottom of this post. It makes grim reading. Apart from the campaign to encourage more Muslims to be involved in politics (and which ignores the ongoing and serious problems caused by Islamic electoral dishonesty) and campaigning for more ‘refugees’ to be dumped upon us, you see how they are reaching out into Tyne and Wear, are involved in dubious child care projects in London’s Southwark and are using their influence at election time.

As regards what fresh CUK hell has riled me up the most well I think that in this issue of their newsletter it has got to be their ‘Citizens Commission on Islam, Participation and Public Life’. As you can see from the scan below, they’ve managed to get Dominic Grieve involved in this to give it some semblance of legitimacy. However this cannot distract from the fact that at present in the UK Britain has a lot of troubles and problems that can be traced back to and legitimately blamed on the ideology of Islam. If it’s not the ongoing terror that we are being subjected to at home and overseas, then it’s the corrupting of our local governments by Islamic interests and the severe damage that the Islamic bent postal vote phenomenon has done to the structure of our electoral system. Rather than a commission to get more Muslims involved in the political process, maybe it would be a better idea to have a commission to assess just how much damage has already been done to our politics by Muslims and Islamic interests? It’s not encouraging more Islamic involvement that’s needed but trying to work out how much dishonest Islamic involvement we have at present.

I despise CUK for lots of reasons. Primarily because they are a left wing organisation that acts against the common good who present themselves as ordinary decent people. Other reasons I despise them are for the way that they suck in religious groups and persuade functionaries of these groups to treat CUK’s activities as ‘the only social action game in town’,when that is plainly not the case. There are a multitude of opportunities for ordinary decent believers to do good for your local community and if your taste runs to overseas projects then there’s plenty of them as well.

If you are a Christian or a Jew and your church or synagogue is involved with CUK then I’ll set you a challenge. Ask some awkward questions about CUK, their activities and their politics, and see what response you get. I bet you will be, as I was, fobbed off, ignored, called a ‘reactionary’ or given any one of a multitude of excuses why CUK is the only way for your religious organisation to undertake social action (the reality is, it isn’t). I especially despise CUK for their pro-Islam views and their closeness to so many questionable Islamic organisations such as the East London Mosque. Despite CUK’s happy clappy naïve ‘outreach’ to Muslims and Islamic organisations, such actions can only ever end up with a bad deal for non-Muslims.

Over the last few years I’ve seen very little social media discussion or criticism of CUK from those involved in counterjihad or who are opposed to Leftism per se. This is something that needs to change and change fast. The last decade or so has seen CUK come from virtually nothing to wielding an awful lot of unaccountable influence, and what is seriously frightening is how they’ve done this very quietly and with the aid of some deeply unpleasant individuals and organisations.

I consider that CUK is a political opponent to those things that I agree with. I see CUK as opposed to secure nation states, opposed to capitalism and the free market, opposed to the idea of western societies being confident in and about themselves, opposed to freedom and worryingly pro-Islam. Maybe it’s time that many more people informed themselves as to the nature and beliefs of Citizens UK and became more aware of their way of working and the negative effects of those policies promoted by CUK.

CUK are not an organisation that patriots and those concerned about the direction of our society can afford to ignore any longer.

  1. “Kindly sponsored by Aviva”? For heaven’s sake, why? What’s in it for them? Do they have any idea what they’re sponsoring? (it might be an idea to email this post and some other material to their PR people or to anyone you/we know who works for them).

I know. It’s infuriating isn’t it? I think that what’s in it for them is the chance to burnish the diversity halos of the HR department at Aviva. I must say that I’m glad I’m not an Aviva customer. yes I will do that and I’d advise others, especially those who are customers of Aviva to do the same. It’s monstrously frustrating when your community group or religious group gets involved with CUK. Your Vicar or Rabbi or local manager comes back beaming with astonishment at some dog and pony show put on by CUK (sometimes it’s an allegedly ‘reformed’ gangster or one of the few genuine refugees out of the current onslaught) and thinks and acts as if CUK can do no wrong. It’s even worse when you synagogal movement or local Church Diocese gets behind CUK because then even when you bring up your well researched concerns about CUK’s politics, subversion and dodgy friends, it’s unlikely you will find support from your Vicar or Rabbi or whatever. You also find CUK very well embedded with the local ‘interfaith’ crowd and I’ve often found overlap between the two.

CUK and their actions and politics have caused splits in religious organisations where previously there was relative unity. CUK seems to elicit two main responses. Those who go all gooey and happy clappy at the idea of CUK style ‘social action’ and those such as myself who can see that CUK are dangerous and their friends an associates even more so.

CUK really are a nasty bunch of Alinskyite Left wingers. I shocked and surprised at someone like Dominic Grieve MP getting involved with this bunch and their plot to get more bent Muslims filing out more bent votes. A brief look at Mr Grieve’s record shows him to be inteligent, so what went wrong or what honey coated forked tongue tale did Neil Jameson tell him in order to get him involved?

CUK have got away with a lot for far too long and it’s time that they faced some sort of challenge. for at least twenty years they’ve been burrowing away in churches, synagogues, community organisations and it’s high time that they were exposed as the disruptive Alinskyite Leftists that they really are.
