A parable that our politicians should listen to

Beware the unwanted guest at your dinner party or even in your nation.

There are many ways to describe the ideology of Islam and its more deranged followers. Words that are relatively accurate such as violent, savage, backward, hateful and nasty, along with words about Islam that are not so accurate, statements such as ‘Islam is a religion of peace’. However there is a another way to describe what the ideology of Islam is, how it behaves and what it does to societies and that is by way of a parable.

The parable of the ruined dinner party

Imagine if you will, that you are present at a nice dinner party with a group of people that you get on with and with whom you have a lot in common. It’s a civilised gathering as many of the dinner parties I’ve attended have been. You’ve had your starter and your soup and are part way through the main course when there is a knock at the door. The hostess gets up, proceeds to the front door and opens it. She finds a scruffy man, carrying a big knife who barges past her and sits himself down at the table in the place recently vacated by the hostess. He attacks the food with not so much gusto, but more like someone with the table manners of a semi trained bear.

After scoffing the food of his choice both from the hostess’s plate and from other diners plates, the uninvited guest starts to complain. He complains about the quality of the food and its nature along with the fact that the guests are drinking wine. He whines loudly about the other guests at the party and insults them and waves his knife around threatening anybody who tries to object to his words, his manners or his unwanted presence at the party. He attacks the Sikh guest, the Christian guest and the Jewish guest at this previously peaceful mixed gathering. He sits there and makes outrageous demands of the hostess to bring him cake, a request which she complies with in the hope of appeasing the uninvited guest so that he leaves them alone.

The unwanted guest eats the entire cake that was brought to him even though the cake was intended for all of the guests. The intruder then gets up and instead of walking to the front door goes instead to the kitchen. In the kitchen he opens the door to the refrigerator, drops his trousers and defecates into the salad drawers at the bottom of the fridge. He closes the fridge door hoists his trousers and goes back into the lounge and sits back down. The unwanted guest then loudly berates the hostess for keeping a terrible house and complains to her that there is even a stinky great turd sitting in the hostess’s fridge and what a disgusting thing this is.

The intruder is a most disagreeable, unpleasant uninvited guest. He is rude, demanding, arrogant, greedy, violent and dishonest. He treats the hostess with sexist disdain and aggression, he fouls the fridge and blames it on others and turns a civilised and pleasant evening into a nightmare of tears, violence and hatred. What should have been a night consisting of the civilised sharing of food and good conversation, has been utterly ruined by someone who should not have been at the party in the first place and whom none of the guests had the balls to stand up to.

In case you haven’t guessed it yet this is a parable about Islam with the disgraceful and unwanted guest representing the ideology of Islam and the harassed and traumatised dinner party guests representing our nation and its citizens. What the fictional unwanted guest did to the equally fictional dinner party in the story above, is what Islam does to civilised societies when it gains influence over them. Maybe if the unwanted individual in the story had been restrained by the guests or tied to a chair until the police arrived or even bodily thrown out by the legitimate guests, then the food would not have been greedily devoured by the interloper, the house would not have been trashed and there probably would not have been a turd laid in the fridge.
