A warning against complacency.

A few weeks ago I was out and about, or more specifically down the pub, when I got talking to a really nice guy from out of town. He told me that he was from a town (which I will not name) that had a large military base. From there the conversation went from subject to subject and included recent military history and politics. When anyone talks about such matters with me, almost inevitably the conversation will end up touching on the issue of the ongoing jihad being waged against us. To not talk about the current Jihad threat to us all is foolish and is akin to talking about World War II without mentioning the unitesticled Austrian corporal

My new friend said that he was completely unconcerned about a jihad attack on his town because of the presence of this particular military base. He said that there would be no jihad attack on his area because the terrorists would not get away alive. I was shocked at this appalling complacency and felt I had to tell him so. I informed him that Jihadist followers of Islam are unlike any ad hoc enemy that the UK state and people has faced before. Jihadists are not like the IRA or any of the dissident Irish Republican groups. Jihadists have no real military objective apart from killing as many non-Muslims as possible. They are not attacking infrastructure or military targets, they are killing people purely because the Jihadists consider non-Muslims to be kuffar or subhuman.

Jihadists, unlike Irish Republicans, the Angry Brigade, an external military enemy or any other similar group, do not care if they are killed or captured. Their dark ages Islamic mindset sees death in the course of Jihad as being preferable to life. This is not something that anybody in Britain can afford to be complacent about. I told my drinking partner that we are dealing with an enemy that is not like one that we’ve had to fight before and that I hoped that he was right and there would not be a Jihad attack on his town. Unfortunately, having been an observer of the depravity of Islamic culture, theology and society for some time, I predict that I will be correct on this. I don’t believe that it’s a case of ‘if’ my friend’s town is attacked, more a case of ‘when’.

For those who don’t believe that this enemy is different from the others that we have faced, just read this part I’m quoting from a piece by Robert Spencer of Jihad watch. It shows just what sort of mindset we are dealing with and why we cannot afford any sort of complacency when it comes to Islam.

Mr Spencer said:

Antsy ISIS militant orders his own killing so he can get to heaven on time,” Fox News, May 13, 2016:

An Islamic State fighter captured in Iraq last week reportedly begged Kurdish troops to kill him right away because he didn’t want to be late for a 4 p.m. religious ceremony in heaven.

Kurdish Peshmerga forces captured the militant after he and 49 others were sent out by ISIS for a suicide bombing attack in the Christian town of Tel Askuf coinciding with an Islamic holy day, according to The Clarion Project

They were supposed to commit suicide using their suicide belts because today is the anniversary of the Isra and Mi’iraj celebration,” Peshmerga Lt. Col. Salim ak-Surji reportedly told the Turkish News Agency Rudaw. He told me ‘all of us must be in heaven by 4 p.m., kill me,” the officer said. The day marks Prophet Muhammad’s ascension to heaven to receive instruction form Allah….

This story should give anyone who is at all concerned about Jihad much to be worried about. It shows the effects on the individual jihadi of years of Islamic brainwashing and indoctrination. Here we have a man who cares so little for his own life that he begs for death so he can be in ‘paradise’ for a meeting. We may laugh at such a person and declare that Islam is indeed a form of mental illness or that Islam and stupidity always seem to go together, but we shouldn’t laugh. There are probably hundreds of such creatures similar to the one apprehended by the Peshmerga fighters, lurking quietly among Islamic communities in British towns and cities. Any of them could, in response to either an internal or external stimulus, decide to go ‘full Islam’, strap on an explosive belt and self-detonate in one of our conurbations.

The nature of the enemy fighter does to a certain extent determine how they should be treated and how we should defend ourselves against them. Because of the overt desire for death expressed by these Islamic jihadis we cannot treat them, or the threat they pose, in the same way as we’ve treated those involved in Irish Republican or similar previous terrorist battles.

To a certain degree, with Irish Republicanism, it was possible to take a complacent view about them or invoke the ‘Blitz spirit’ and carry on regardless of the terrorism. However, with Islam we cannot afford to be so stupidly tolerant. With Islam the ‘core cause’ is not attacking the agents of the State but instead is merely a desire to kill the non Muslims, there is no greater or more complex driver for Islamic violence than that. This is why Islam and Jihad is different and this is also why we cannot afford to be complacent about Islam or assume that our towns or cities are safe, no matter how well populated they are by hard-case squaddies. Nobody and nowhere is immune from Islamic violence and it’s time that we all woke up to that fact.
