I didn’t feel a sense of urgency to see ‘Brexit the Movie’ the crowdfunded documentary about the iniquities, corruption, anti-democratic structure, fraud and incompetance of the EU, not because there is anything wrong with the movie, but because I had already made my own mind to choose ‘Leave’. I knew the issues, the politics and can see which way the EU elite want to go and felt that they didn’t need any reinforcing.

However Tim, one of the co presenters of the PEGIDA radio show asked me if I’d seen it and, to my chagrin, I had to say that I had not. I’ve now remedied that defect and I have to say I’m bloody glad that I did.

If anyone is wavering about which way to vote then this film is an absolute education. It shows the history, structure and glaring faults of the EU in an engaging, entertaining and informative way. It takes us through from the convulsions that the continent of Europe went through in the 20 century and the effects on political thinking, thorough to today’s EU behemoth that strangles innovation and keeps the people’s of Europe in chains. There was a thorough explaination of how the EU is counter-democratic because of its culture of believing experts and technocrats can run societies much better than the people can. As I said this film is one that I’m glad I watched as even though I consider myself knowledgable in EU matters, there were parts of this movie that surprised me.

Well done to all those who researched, funded, scripted, provided technical skills and edited this marvellous document of the mess that the EU is in and is also a warning of what sorts of messes the EU could face in the future, which Brussels would no doubt ask the British to pay for.

An excellent film. Don’t make the same mistake as I did and assume that this film will have nothing to tell you. If you think that then prepare to be surprised.
