Surely it would be better to shut down or bulldoze the mosques that invite hate preachers and not just control the hate preachers themselves?

The government is continuing with its attempt to stop Islamic hate preaching in mosques whilst still paradoxically telling us all that Islam is a religion of peace. The government intends to ban certain Islamic hate preachers from speaking at mosques and at university Islamic Societies. This to me looks like putting the cart before the horse. Yes, the individual Islamic hate preacher is a problem and needs dealing with, but surely an equally serious and pressing problem are the mosques that invite and host such speakers?

It is going to be difficult and costly in terms of both money and manpower to keep tabs on all the hundreds of Islamic hate preachers either resident in the UK or who may be visiting the UK, but mosques themselves are much more trackable and easier to monitor and sanction. Hate preachers could be invited to a mosque, make their speech inciting violence against the rest of us and be off on their way before the authorities are even aware what has gone on. Although there is a need to control the activities of Islamic hate preachers and promoters of sedition, it’s the mosques that need dealing with as well.

Under the present proposals mosques could book hate preachers and then when they are later outed as being the hosts of the hate preacher, just lie to the authorities and say they didn’t know that the speaker was an extremist. In other words mosques can host dangerous hate preachers with no real come back whatsoever.

It would be far more effective for the government to say to mosques that if they are caught hosting hate preachers who are calling for the death of Christians and Jews or are promoting the enslavement of women or are encouraging sedition, then they will be legally liable for what they’ve done. The government need to start playing hard-ball with Britain’s mosques because all too many of them are taking the piss big time out of Britain, it’s government and its people. These mosques that host hate preachers need to be quickly shut down whether temporarily or permanently. Personally I’d like to see mosques facing a three strikes system where three episodes of hate preacher hosting gets the mosque building itself permanently confiscated or even bulldozed.

At present mosques are able to lie and obfuscate their way out of trouble when they are caught either hosting hate preachers or when congregations of mosques have been implicated in terror or jihad. Think about it, how many times have you seen an Imam or Muslim community leader making a statement to journalists following one of their community dying on jihad or being arrested for a terror offence that says: ‘we knew nothing’ or ‘he was a quiet boy, not radical at all’? Enough of that, we all now know that Imams and ‘community leaders’ lie in order to protect Islam and therefore we can’t trust their assurances that ‘they know nothing’. We need to acknowledge and we need our government to do so as well, that it’s the mosques which are part of the problem. It’s time for the government to make mosques accountable for who they have as speakers and what these speakers say. Yes it’s an imposition on the mosques but the situation is now so bad with regards to Islamic extremism that this imposition is justified. It is only the religious organisations of Muslims, not those of other belief systems that are hosting speakers who are encouraging and approving of sedition and violence. You would not for example find a Methodist Church or a Jewish Synagogue or a Sikh place of worship hosting anyone like as mental or as treasonous as are hosted at mosques up and down the country every week of the year.

For too long British mosques have been a law unto themselves and it’s time that this anomaly was stopped. We cannot tackle the problem of Islamic sedition by concentrating on the individual hate preachers alone, for such a policy to be effective then the mosques need to be targeted as well. To do one action without also doing the other is condemning this policy to failure. We are facing a situation where a significant minority of the UK’s Muslim population has declared war on Britain and its people, therefore those mosques who invite and facilitate those who encourage Islamic sedition need to be treated as the enemies that they truly are.
