It seems that not a week goes by without either a Western country suffering an Islamic terrorist attack or having a potential attack foiled by the security forces. This week is no exception.
According to Jihad Watch a plot by a convert to Islam (surprise, surprise) to cause mass casualties at a shopping centre in Miami, Florida was stopped by police and the suspect brought into custody.
Jihad Watch said:
Vicente Solano is apparently a convert to Islam, as he was inspired by the Islamic State and made pro-Islamic State videos. So here again we have a convert to Islam getting the idea that his new religion requires him to commit treason and mass murder. Authorities remain completely uninterested in this oft-recurring phenomenon.
Jihad Watch is correct. There have been a number of incidents where individuals have converted to Islam and then plotted to kill non Muslims. It should not be forgotten for example that the murderers of Fusilier Lee Rigby in 2013 in Woolwich, South London were both converts to Islam. There appears to be something ‘iffy’ about Islam that makes too many of those who choose this path turn into murdering monsters. It’s notable that those who convert to Christianity, Judaism, Hindusim or Buddhism do not have anything like the records for religious violence that converts to Islam have. This should tell us a lot about the true nature of Islam. If those who choose it are so easily persuaded to commit acts of violence in the name of Islam then it is to the content of Islamic theology that we must turn to find out why this happens. As Jihad Watch said the authorities who should be treating converts to Islam with some degree of suspicion because of the previous record for converts turning into Jihadis, are failing to do so and also failing to keep the rest of us safe from these nutcases who choose Islam.
Jihad Watch continued:
“Miami man inspired by ISIS arrested on charge of trying to blow up a bomb at Dolphin Mall,” by Jay Weaver, Miami Herald, October 21, 2017 (thanks to Darcy):
A Miami man suspected of being inspired by Islamic extremists was arrested Friday night on a charge of attempting to blow up a bomb at the Dolphin Mall by FBI counter-terrorism agents in an undercover operation.
Vicente Solano, who acted alone, was communicating with a confidential informant who tipped off the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force about his alleged plot to carry out a weapons of mass destruction attack on the sprawling mall in Doral, according to authorities.
Before the planned bombing attack, Solano made pro-Islamic State videos, authorities said. But there is no indication he was directed by ISIS terrorists.
When he was arrested, Solano planned to detonate the WMD, which was a sham bomb that he acquired from FBI undercover agents — a strategy deployed in previous counter-terrorism probes in South Florida….
The people of Miami are very lucky indeed that the arrested man appears to have been a bit of an idiot. But they should not sit back and feel too safe. A lot of policing resources have to be employed to deal with the convert idiots and other Muslims who plot atrocities like this and there is always the possibility that one day a group of Bearded Savages that the FBI may have missed will end up murdering hundreds if not thousands of innocent people. The security forces have to be successful in stopping these Islamic terror plots every time whereas the Islamic terrorists only have to succeed once.
Islam is a magnet for the unbalanced, the aggressive and the violent which is why conversion to Islam should be seen as a marker for future problems. As has so often been the case, the recitation of the Shahada by a convert is followed at some point sooner or later by the convert inflicting violence on others in the name of Islam. Conversion to Islam makes bad or mad people (Islam loves mad, violent or suggestible people) even worse, Islam is a giant factory for turning the sad and the mentally ill into murdering monsters. Because of that it not only should it cease to be socially acceptable to convert to Islam but conversion should also been seen by the security forces as a factor that turns an innocent citizen or subject into a person of law enforcement interest. Freedom of religious belief and the right to change religions if so chosen are important freedoms in our societies, but when people convert to bad and dangerous ideologies then it is right that such people are held in both opprobrium and under suspicion.
