Life for Christians in the terrible shithole of a nation that is Pakistan continues to get worse and worse. The slightest provocation or even perceived provocation by a Christian to a Muslim, invites appalling violence down on to the ‘offending’ Christian community.

According to the Christian Post news site, a dispute over an Easter banner for a church, sparked off an orgy of violence that saw shots fired at a church and Christians pelted with bricks. It seems that a local Muslim businessman and headman had gifted the Christians a signboard for the church but, to the chagrin of the Christians, had it emblazoned with pictures of the businessman and his family.

The Christians of Burewala are also experiencing problems with young Muslim men hanging round the church and harassing Christian girls in incidents that have a remarkable similarity to how similar Muslim men harass and prey on non Muslim girls here in the UK. It appears that the Christians have tried to reduce the tensions and to try to explain to the Muslims why they objected to the sign the Muslim businessman gave them, but all to no avail.

These incidents are but one of a number where Muslims have targeted Christians for violence or oppression for little reason other than that their victims are Christian. Pakistan is a most terrible place in which to follow a religion other than Sunni Islam, it is a hellhole of oppression and it is one that has been created by Islam itself. Pakistan is a nation built on Islam and therefore the hatred and oppression shown to members of minority religions quite plainly has a distinctive Islamic character.
