Kuwaiti singer gives up Islam and chooses Judaism.

I will always give praise to those who choose to leave Islam and instead choose a better more free path than Islam can ever offer. However this story is more than a little unusual. Not only will this Kuwaiti singer face the wrath of the Islamofascists for leaving Islam per se, she’s also going to get a lot of hassle for the path out of Islam that she has chosen, that of Judaism.

I say Baruch HaShem (trans: bless the holy name of the Eternal One) for this conversion from a path of death to one that has at its heart the exhortation to ‘choose life so that you and your descendants may live’ (Deut 30:19). The news came in an article for the Middle East Monitor (h/t ROP) dated February 11th 2021.

Middle East Monitor said:

Kuwaiti singer Ibtisam Hamid has announced that she has converted to Judaism, RT reported.

In a video posted on social media, Hamid, better known as Basma Al-Kuwaiti, said: “I announce leaving the religion of Islam and proudly announce conversion to Judaism.”

She explained that her decision is based on her belief that “Islam is a religion of terror and a religion of hypocrisy, which despises women, oppresses and violates them, and does not give them their full rights and I am proud to say I am Jewish.”

The Middle East Monitor, a publication which takes a notably anti-Israel line added that she also rejected the ruling Al-Sabah family and declared her opposition to it:

Adding that she is also declaring “my opposition to – and not belonging to – the Al-Sabah family, which rejects normalisation, freedom of religion and freedom of opinion. I show neither loyalty nor affiliation to them,” in reference to the Kuwait royal family which has refused to build ties with the occupation state of Israel.

It is believed that Hamid is an Iraqi national who was born to a Kuwaiti mother but has been unable to obtain citizenship due to legal restrictions which prevent women from passing their nationality to their children.

It is unclear if she still lives in Kuwait, with reports that she moved away not long ago.

It’s quite likely, knowing how oppressive the Kuwaiti government can be towards its opposition, that Ms Hamid has indeed made her statement after leaving Kuwait and I can only hope and pray that she is now in a country that will protect her. Hopefully at some point she can move to Israel where her rights will be protected, something that is unlikely to be the case if she is either in another Islamic country or a country where there is a significant Islamic minority.

We should take the time to praise all those who leave the death cult of Islam, whether they leave for a more peaceful spiritual path or whether they reject religion altogether. This is because for all too many ex-Muslims, leaving Islam is dangerous. An apostate from Islam is often the target of the nutcases within Islam who want to kill apostates. Ms Hamid is in particular danger because she has chosen a spiritual path that the Koran and Hadith tell Muslims to hate and hate with a murderous passion.
