From Elsewhere: A brilliant bitch fight worth reading.

If you want to see an absolute master skewer some leftists then, if you are able, get over to the Twitter feed of the brilliant Douglas Murray.

He and one of the magazines he works for, in this case the Spectator, are getting whined at by journalists and writers of the Left because the Speccy ran an interview with Eric Zemmour, who is an outsider challenger for the French Presidency. These Leftists are unhappy that someone with views that the left describes as ‘far right’ are being given a platform and are being ‘boosted’ by the Spectator. The problem is, as Mr Murray points out, Zemmour is not being boosted by the Spectator as he already has a number of other platforms to promote his views and what appears to be a great deal of support from within France.

My view is that as Zemmour is already a player in French politics then readers of the Spectator might want to know what this man is all about. It’s not a case of the Spectator promoting Zemmour, more like merely reporting on him.

After being attacked by leftists such as David Aaronovitch, a man who whilst I might not always agree with has been a pretty good writer, Mr Murray pointed out the double standards of the Left and of leftist newspapers such as the Guardian. Mr Murray listed all the times that bad people such as Osama Bin Laden had been given space in the Guardian’s comment sections or how a Guardian writer had also been a KGB agent and how the paper had given Stalinists a platform.

As I said it’s a brilliant bitchfight and so good to see Mr Murray calling out leftist hypocrisy and double standards. Here’s a few screenshots as samples of the conversation.
