Looking for yet another reason to not vote for the Liberal Democrats?

The Lib Dems are dead as a sensible political party.

There are lots and lots of reasons not to vote for the Liberal Democrat Party at election time. Included in this list of reasons are the party’s failure to back the democratic Brexit vote, their pushing of gender ideology which may or may not be linked to the party’s acceptance of funding from puberty blocker manufacturers, their numerous sleazy sex scandals and the fact that in practise this party is neither meaningfully liberal nor is it democratic.

Now we have Lib Dem councillors who are so deeply embedded in the cult of Green that they want to gas their political opponents. Yes, gas them all said a Liberal Democrat councillor from a South Coast council of campaigners fighting to stop a ULEZ type scheme being imposed on Edinburgh.

Michael Tarling, a Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Lib Dem councillor has been suspended from Twitter following his reply to a tweet on July 28 which showed a church hall where people had gathered to protest against the introduction of an ultra low emission zone in Edinburgh. Mr Tarling replied to the tweet saying he would: “happily fill the room with carbon monoxide.”

According to the biography of Councillor Tarling given by Christchurch Liberal Democrats, this man is a Construction Consultant with a keen interest in STEM subjects. This means that he’s not stupid which is why his mind bogglingly stupid comment is so egregious. Surely such an educated man must have had enough history knowledge to know that Carbon Monoxide was the initial gas of choice used by the Nazis to carry out mass killings prior to their use of Hydrogen Cyanide?

Apparently complaints have gone into the local council about this councillors comments and it’s possible that he could be sanctioned under councillor misconduct rules. Whether he will face any meaningful sanction from the Lib Dem party itself remains to be seen. At the very least Councillor Tarling gives us another in a long list of damned good reasons not to vote for the Lib Dems who I’m afraid now include too many people like Councillor Tarling who are neither liberal or democratic in their political or personal mindsets.
