I’ve been extremely busy this year at this time so I forgot to put up my annual Christmas greeting to you all.
Therefore although delayed by 24 hours or so, I’d like to wish everyone who celebrates a very Merry Christmas and hope you are all having a good one. In Britain where the 26th is called Boxing Day and is mostly a day when major shops and services close, many people are hopefully ‘filling up the corners’, as Tolkien said about Hobbits eating habits, with leftovers from Christmas Dinner and mostly relaxing with families and friends. However there are many Britons who are not relaxing today and winding down from the Big Day. There are many Britons who are suffering in stressful situations such as those who are carers or those who are lonely or living in genuine poverty. In our celebrations we should not forget those who cannot because of their circumstances celebrate in the manner that they would like to celebrate or those for whom the Christmas Season is one of remembrance of loss of loved ones and who will always mourn the empty seat at the Christmas Dinner table.
As is usual for this blog at this time of year it’s time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope you are having a good one. As is custom here it’s time to sign off the Christmas post with a Christmas song, one written (or in this case adapted) like so many other Christmas songs by Jews. The difference with this one, which was broadcast by the Latma TV comedy programme in Israel, is that it rips the piss out of an enemy that doesn’t just want to kill Jews (there’s been lots of them over the centuries) but just about everyone else as well.
So here it is and I hope everyone is having the best Christmas they can have.

This satirical video you post every year is just vile, and please don’t apologise for posting it a few days late, and hopefully soon or by year you will have laid it to rest and will be able to give a genuine Christmas greeting to all your Christian and non Jewish followers without bringing the ‘counter jihad’ into everything. You see, as an agnostic I still wish you and your family all the best for your days of observances and celebrations without slipping politicalisation, and frankly hatred, into it.
But best wishes for everyone’s holidays at this time of midwinter in the Northern Hemisphere.
You may think that this video is vile but the hate filled culture it is satirising is vile. It is in my opinion a modern day equivalent of the ‘Hitler had only one ball’ song. Like many others I’ve met ‘Palestinians’ in the UK who genuinely desire peace genuinely desire to put aside and ignore the wilder shores of Islamic ideology and live in peace and cooperation with their neighbours, but such praiseworthy individuals are clearly not the majority in that culture. I wish it was otherwise but reality is not compliant with my wishes.
I normally put this video up with out comment (no I’m not apologising for it, if you don’t like it then take it up with Latma TV) but this year, this year of horror with actual and foiled jihad attacks on Christians and Jews in the UK and Australia abounding as well as the ongoing jihad against Jews in Israel along with the burning and desecrating of churches by suspected jihadis and their Leftist handmaidens, comment was appropriate in this case. Also there is nothing in the video that is demonstrably untrue, life for Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and others (including heterodox Moslams) is precarious to say the least in lands run by political Islam. Fancy being a Christian in Pakistan for example, if you thought about it you would say ‘no’.
Freedom of religion and respect for each others belief is a wonderful thing and it was bought in Europe at least at the cost of centuries of war and conflict. But although wonderful, freedom of faith is vulnerable to those groups and ideologies that exploit that freedom for their own murky ends. There will not be freedom of belief and freedom from belief or the ability to comment on or satirise beliefs if jihadism wins.
Seasons greetings to you and yours
