From Elsewhere: ‘Scaring the bejesus’ out of the authorities.

Britain is currently living in those proverbial ‘interesting times’. There’s anger among the public about migration and the destruction of the society that Britons and those who have thrown their lot in with us have built. There is anger at the failure of Net Zero to being about energy security or deliver affordable energy for homes and industry and there is a move by an increasing number of people to reclaim the Christian heritage that successive governments have denigrated and downplayed.

Dr Richard North writing at Turbulent Times has examined the current febrile state of Britain today and has come to the conclusion that the type of protest we are now seeing is different to what we might have seen before. We now have a situation where we have a combination of peaceful direct action groups like Patriot Platform doing their stuff against a background of what might be called activist cells doing stuff like picketing and doing graffiti on the walls of coach companies who have transported Channel Invaders around the country and attacking Homes in Multiple Occupation (HMO) believed by local people to be housing Invaders.

Little of this Dr North said was being reported on mainstream media outlets and I’m not surprised about that as it backs up what I’ve said for a long time that those who get all or most of their news from outlets like the BBC often have a very poor idea of what is going on in the world. In tandem with protests both peaceful and less so there is a rising effort by ordinary people to reclaim Britain’s Christian heritage. All these aspects of the current situation, the Patriot Platform protests, the independent less peaceful actions, the picketing of Invader Enablers and the return to Christianity movement all seem to me to be highly decentralised and this is going to be difficult for the Government to tackle without getting so dictatorial that even the BBC consuming normies start to notice something is wrong.

Dr North said in answer to the question as to whether Mainland Britain would end up with some sort of analogue of the Ulster Troubles:

“The very existence of large, organised bodies, able to mobilise anywhere at short notice, will force the authorities to step up security in anticipation of protests, etc., which they can no longer predict.

One commentator attempts to explain what is going on, writing that there is a transformation taking place across this country and it is terrifying the authorities.

This is because it is countrywide, community led, does not have easily identifiable leaders and is patriotic, nationalist and Christian in nature, he says, The Patriot platform events that were unexpected, quiet, peaceful and very sizeable.

Community protests in Crowborough and Wisbech were very well attended. The protest in Telford, also peaceful but large. And then yesterday saw the largest group Christian baptism take place in Bridlington with 550 people taking part.

Our commentator ventures that it’s a growing societal upsurge in recapturing our identity, reclaiming our towns and rejecting what is being done to us. And the fact that it’s peaceful, silent and unprompted scares the bejesus out of the authorities because they can’t clamp down on us.”

There’s a lot that’s correct here. The authorities are set up for policing big set piece demonstrations and maybe a couple of incidents of localised trouble or vandalism. What they are not set up for and seem to have no plan for is lots of random incidents in multiple locations. Such a situation could easily overwhelm police resources if the situation worsened. The fact that those protesting or taking part in various actions seem to have learned some INFOSEC skills is also putting the authorities on the back foot. A police force cannot get a couple of van loads of cops and public disorder kit to a location unless the police have intelligence that something is going to happen at said location. With a multiyear rundown of police intelligence sections in some forces for cost reasons the police are in some cases having to operate reactively and not proactively. Police are now I believe increasingly reduced to reliance on members of the public who still foolishly believe that things are still OK phoning in reports of trouble to the police. If or when the police’s supply of petty grasses like this start to dry up then the police will be running blind to a certain extent.

We are heading for trouble in Britain and what’s worse is it was all so easily avoidable. Successive governments could have acted robustly on increasing concerns about migration and the failure of top down multiculturalism and not enacted Net Zero policies that anyone with more than half a brain could have seen would created an energy disaster. Unfortunately governments did not act in this manner and we therefore now have a steadily escalating level of decentralised protest that cannot be dealt with by just gaoling or oppressing or harassing a groups leadership because the sort of groups we are seeing arising have no leaders to gaol.
