A rise in protestors going for the ‘soft underbelly’ of the Establishment.

About a month ago, September 11th to be precise I wrote an article, linked below, commenting on the targeting for protest of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) because of their role in assisting the Government to land illegal migrants attempting to cross the English Channel in Britain. In this article I agreed with Mr Peter North that the RNLI was being targeted because it was part of what Mr North called the ‘NGO-ocracy’, that conglomerate of charities national and international that have become hollowed out by the Left and dominated by their views.

I also agreed with Mr North about the nature of the targets of protest such as the RNLI. What the protesters are apparently doing is concentrating their ire on the soft underbelly of the invader importation complex.

It is a protest tactic that appears to be effective as it has indeed dragged the RNLI into a political row, one they probably didn’t want and has evoked a response, a critical hand wringing one, as expected, from elements in the Establishment. Dame Julia Unwin formerly of the very left wing and pro-migration Rowntree Foundation and now the Chair of the Charity Commission, condemned protests against the RNLI. According to the BBC, Dame Julia used the opportunity of the Commission’s annual public meeting to refer to the protests against the RNLI’s role in invader importation as “thuggery and intimidation”

The BBC said:

“The chair of the Charity Commission has condemned the “thuggery and intimidation” faced by RNLI volunteers.

Dame Julia Unwin said the lifeboat charity, based in Poole, Dorset, had an “absolute duty” to rescue people “in peril in the sea”.

Volunteers have been targeted by protesters since the RNLI helped bring about 120 migrants ashore at Eastney, Portsmouth, on 6 September, and police are investigating threats made to crews over radio during a rescue this month.”

The BBC added:

“After the Eastney landing, some crew members had their names and photos shared on social media in posts accusing them of treason, and Portsmouth’s lifeboat station was closed.

On 4 October, 149 migrants rescued in a mid-Channel operation involving the RNLI were brought ashore at Gosport.

Hampshire police said four suspicious messages were then broadcast over VHF radio in Portsmouth Harbour.

Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service, an independent lifeboat charity, described the messages as “disgusting threats”.

The RNLI said it was “unacceptable” for its crews to face “threats of any nature”.

Chief executive Peter Sparkes has previously condemned threats from “those who would hide behind a balaclava or a keyboard”. “

The first thing I take from this BBC article is that the Establishment is getting a bit rattled by not just the protests but what they represent, which is a hardening attitude to migration in the wider public. These new, apparently semi-decentralised groups, along with self-motivated individuals who are protesting do seem to be having an effect, hence Dame Julia’s comments and the BBC’s eagerness to highlight them.

Of course I cannot condone threats of violence but telling RNLI crews what is thought of their involvement in the Channel Invader crisis or subjecting them to social ostracism and opprobrium is a different kettle of fish. Thanks to the actions of RNLI superiors by committing RNLI resources to the importation of a load of wrong’uns it’s the ordinary boat crews in the RNLI that are taking the flak. If boat crews are unhappy with that then they need to take it up with their national management. After all it is they who have landed the RNLI in this tricky public relations nightmare.

If there is an aim to the protests against the RNLI then it is to get the RNLI leadership to stop cooperating with the British government over the importation of invaders. The leadership of the RNLI are not going to want to do that so the protest situation may continue. The whole point of protests is to get a government or a company or any other sort of organisation to do something that they might not want to do whether that’s improving working conditions in a company or changing a law, or as in this case getting a charity to stop acting in the interests of the invaders who are bringing misery to towns and cities across the United Kingdom. The RNLI is an example of a soft underbelly part of the mechanism of the Channel Invasion and that is why it is being targeted. It’s an easier target for protest and public opprobrium than some others might be.

Targeting the soft underbelly of the invader importation complex is not just confined to the RNLI. There have been protests at coach companies that have been suspected of involvement in moving migrants from where they are landed and into taxpayer funded accommodation.

There have been protests at coach companies including at BM Coaches and Rental Ltd of West London. This company faced a lot of public criticism and a significantly sized protest according to reports and has decided that they should give up their contract with the Home Office to transport invaders.

The Southampton Daily Echo said:

“A coach company has stopped providing vehicles for Home Office migrant transport arrangements after its staff suffered abuse from members of the public.

BM Coaches & Rental Ltd confirmed it ceased providing vehicles last Wednesday following a review of the operating environment and concerns about the sensitivity surrounding transport services connected to the Home Office.

The company said it had been asked by an intermediary to keep two coaches on standby in southern England from September 19 for occasional use by the Home Office.”

It appears from the Echo article that this was a whole lot more than just abuse from members of the public. There was a massive demo outside the coach depot and damage to vehicles and arrests at the protest.

The Echo added:

“The arrival prompted a protest involving around 350 people, with flares set off and clashes reported between demonstrators and police. Twelve people were arrested on suspicion of offences including assaulting a police officer, criminal damage and racially aggravated public order offences.

It’s all getting a bit spicy but it all getting this way was easily predictable. The British people have tried voting for better border control and been promised migration control by various political parties who have then gone on to make the migration problem much worse, I’m looking at you Boris Johnson.

People voted and voted for parties that had manifesto promises of effective immigration control and voted for parties that had policies that said it would place the interests of the Briton above that of potential migrants legal or illegal. We voted for parties that promised faithfully to bring down migration, deport wrong’uns and generally run the country in the interests of the British subject.

Sadly that policy of using the ballot box has patently failed and has failed on successive occasions. The failure of the Ballot Box only tactic has led to the sort of street politics that we are seeing today. There’s a great irony about the great and the good like Dame Julia Unwin decrying ‘thuggery’ when it is her political class, the liberal left, that has helped to create the political conditions for such alleged ‘thuggery’.

It’s clear that the demonstration at BM coaches was a big one and a quite angry one. This story that was published by London 999 News during the demonstration makes that pretty clear.

London 999 News said:

“Protesters have blocked the entrance to a BM Coaches depot in west London amid claims the company has been involved in transporting migrants within the Home Office asylum system. Members of the Patriot Platform gathered outside the coach operator’s depot on Wadsworth Road, Perivale, and remained at the entrance for several hours. Police attended the scene while the protest continued.

Those taking part said they were targeting the company because of its alleged involvement in transporting asylum seekers and migrants. The Home Office uses contracted accommodation and transport providers as part of the asylum system, including when moving people between accommodation sites. However, UKNIP has not identified a published Home Office contract or other official record confirming BM Coaches’ precise role in those operations. BM Coaches is a passenger transport company operating from depots including Perivale and Merstham and provides coach and group transport services across the UK.

Footage from the protest showed demonstrators positioned across the depot entrance while police officers monitored the situation. Social media posts from supporters encouraged those involved to remain at the site, while organisers said they were refusing to move. There was no immediate confirmation of arrests. The protest remained ongoing at the time of publication.”

It was clearly the sort of demonstration that made the coach company sit up and take notice. They appear to have taken the view that as transporting migrants is not their core business that they will withdraw from the Home Office contract.

In a statement from the coach company published in the Daily Echo the company said:

“We would like to thank our staff, some of whom, through absolutely no fault of their own, have suffered significant abuse from members of the general public, for their continued support and dedication to serving our many and much valued clients.

“The Group has no plans to undertake any further transport services commissioned through these arrangements. “

I suspect that this decision was forced on them by the demonstrators and by the fact that they might lose other business if they continued to engage in the invader importation game. This is clearly a win for the protestors even though the means of win appears to have been somewhat spicier than I would or could go along with.

Not only is this a win for the protestors it also puts other coach companies who are part of the migrant importation industry’s soft underbelly in the spotlight. I doubt whether BM Coaches is the only coach company involved in migrant transportation and there’s the distinct possibility that these companies might also be targeted by protestors?

It’s possible that other coach companies involved in migrant travel may look at what happened to BM Coaches and decide in advance to get out of Home Office contracts. It’s hard to believe that there are many small to medium sized coach companies who might want to invite the sort of aggravation and protest that landed on BM Coaches doorstep?

Even if these companies do continue in the migrant travel business it’s going to come at a cost to both the companies and the State. The State is going to have to commit even more resources than they are already into protecting their contractors such as coach companies which is also forcing the State to have to do things that it might be reluctant to do. Increased security for migrant travel providers is going to come at a cost of angering more Britons and maybe feeding more protests.

Whether I agree with the tactics or not, and some of the tactics I do disagree with, there’s little doubt that for the moment the policy of protestors going after soft underbelly targets is working. The RNLI are feeling the heat of public disapproval and a coach company has seen the writing on the wall and acted in their own best interests.

I suspect that there will be further targeting by protestors of soft underbelly aspects of the migration industry and there will be an almost inevitable response from the State dishing out even greater repression. A cornered Rat of a government can be a dangerously vicious thing. But this policy might come with its own risks. A heavy handed response is likely, especially in these increasingly febrile times where even the normies are noticing that there’s a whole lot wrong with Britain, blow back. If the government goes out and creates martyrs by way of repression it could bring about more support for protests and more robust protests. We are reaching the end of the road in Britain where it was possible for Government to mislead most of the people most of the time and all bets are off as to what might happen next.
