Hear, hear! But also worth noting that it took the killing of 12 journalists for the media to even begin to generate a sense of outrage. Perhaps if a similar number of politicians get killed by Jihadis we might see some actual debate about the place of Islam in a free society.
Also worth noting is that across Europe this morning very many major newspapers had the “offending” cartoons printed, unredacted, on their front pages. Only in the UK was the primacy of the Muslim’s right to not be offended by the dirty kuffar respected, with not a single paper making the same gesture. Hooray for us.
I’m normally a supporter of the British press, although it may be worse than some it is better than many. However, I’m ashamed of how the British press have behaved today, really ashamed.

“religion of peace” out on the streets demonstrating

Just the predictable BS taqiyya, spouted by some
haji talking heads, telling anyone who wants to listen
that this is not the work of the “true” followers of islam.

They’ll be keeping a low profile now for a while,
waiting for the shit-storm to blow over,for the kaffir to
go back to his/her comfort zone of “footy”, and Corrie and
Enemadale, and hope all this fades from the collective memory.
But they will still be out there, breeding like rats, planning our demise, and telling lies. It’s what they do. Never forget.
The proper course of action would be for a conference call of all editors of national newspapers to agree that they will all print the cartoons on the front page.
But they are afraid.
There’s a paradox here: why are they afraid of a religion of ‘peace’?
The BBC has heaped shame on itself today too. I expect mohammedans to try to get on the airwaves to say ‘this is nothing to do with Islam’, but why can’t/won’t BBC journalists and presenters say, ‘That is not true. Every one of these atrocities can be justified by verses from the Koran or authenticated sayings of Mohammed.’
Those of us who visit this site know that is true; the BBC is also in a position to know it is true, but allow this outrageous lie to stand unchallenged.
I had the misfortune to have to listen to part of BBC Radio 4’s World At One programme earlier and I was utterly disgusted. Rather than concentrate on the genuine victims of the atrocity in Paris, or examine why Islam so often settles disputes with violence, the BBC instead chose to give a considerable amount of airtime to a French Islamic activist who whined on and on and on about how bad things are going to get for Muslims and how that these attacks will increase ‘Islamophobia’. I shouted at the radio ‘what about the real victims you prick?’ We get outrageous lies about Islam coming from the BBC and meeting and having a conversation about Islam with anybody who gets the majority of their news from the BBC will show you just how misinformed the BBC has made its viewers and listeners.
Ah, yes: here comes the “inevitable backlash”. I hereby make a firm and public pledge, Mr Fahrenheit211, to donate £100 to the Muslim charity of your choice if over the next 12 months even a single Muslim in the UK is killed by a non-Muslim in circumstances that can reasonably ascribed to the “inevitable backlash”. On the other hand, I fully accept there may be bacon placed within the vicinity of Mosques, videos made of copies of the koran being burnt in pub car parks, and a certain amount of bad language and vitriol. That is the crucial distinction: the Islamic community is relatively unmoved when a dozen kuffar get riddled with bullets from a gun wielded by one of the Faithful, but heaven help us all should so much as a single Muslim be made to feel all hurty inside.
Spot on there Vincent. Britain has had its periods of killing people over religion and I reckon that you may be right in your statement that the backlash will be as feeble as you have predicticed. As regards Muslim charities my choice would be, if you lost the bet for you to donate money to the Council of British Ex-Muslims, them poor bastards really do need a break.
