An attractive woman with some deeply unattractive politics.

Laurie Penny, a person who has the ugliest part of her between her ears.

I don’t normally mention, or have a go at people’s appearance, whether in a negative or positive way, because it is ‘playing the man and not the ball’. However for this particular person I’ll make an exception.

The far left commentator, permanent activist and Guardian writer, Laurie Penny, isn’t, let’s be frank here, a minger as regards appearance. There are far uglier people, male and female, both on the Left and on the Right of politics. Unfortunately whilst Laurie Penny may be firmly in the ‘not a minger’ camp physically, her politics are deeply unattractive. It is a politics covered in metaphorical warts, pimples and other disfigurements, a politics of the whining petulant child who has not got its own way and a politics that screams ‘everybody is wrong but me’. Ms Penny and her political compatriots and many of the groups that took part in yesterday’s Westminster demonstration, are on the inside as ugly as sin, and it is this political ugliness that partially propelled me away from the Left.

Ms Penny must live almost completely inside a left wing bubble where its inhabitants say ‘oh yes that’s right’ every time she pipes up with her latest comment on immigration, elections, the banking system and history. Evidence of this ‘bubble-life’ comes from her outrageous comment supporting the vandalism of a memorial in Whitehall to the women of World War II.

On Twitter she said:

@PennyRed

I don’t have a problem with this. The bravery of past generations does not oblige us to be cowed today. “

No Ms Penny, it may not oblige us to be ‘cowed’, but it does oblige us to respect their sacrifice, because it was because of their sacrifice that gives Ms Penny the space to spout total bollocks to the entire world without fear of arrest or of being shipped off to a concentration camp or a gulag.

For this support of the vandals, Ms Penny got hours and hours of criticism on Twitter, but rather than admit that supporting painting ‘Tory Scum’ on a war memorial hadn’t gone down to well with the majority of people in the country, she then proceeded to make deeper the hole that she had dug for herself. She asserted falsely that her Maltese grandmother had personally won the George Cross. This was an error, the people of Malta were collectively given the George Cross in 1942 during World War II but Ms. Penny’s grandmother doesn’t appear in the list of individual female recipients of the GC of which there were only four. See here for details on female GC winners

Ms Penny said:

My grandmother got the George Cross in WW2. I love it when men tell me what ‘real feminists’ are. @tisphated @Little_G2 @CCriadoPerez

Followed by

My immigrant grandmother received the George Cross in WW2. I honour her memory by staying angry. @amjsutherland @Little_G2 @CCriadoPerez

She then went into full on ‘I’m a revolutionary fighting for justice’ mode by trying to deflect criticism, by making herself look like she is on the side of the poor and underprivileged and said:

No, what’s disgusting is that some people are more worried about a war memorial than the destruction of the welfare state.“

Personally, I think that Ms Penny has little idea of just how ginormously huge Britain’s welfare state really is. If you listened to Ms Penny, you’d think that there were gangs of bankers going round stealing boxes of Aldi cornflakes from poor people’s larders, and as we all know that is not happening.

Laurie Penny and her band of ‘minging Marxists’ are angry that the people have made a choice that they disagree with and because of that they have thrown the toys out of the pram. The behaviour of the demonstrators, along with their crass intolerance of differing views, shows us all that no matter how attractive a face the Left puts on or paints on itself, it is still a howling gyre of parasitism, hatred, self-entitlement, hatred of country, people and ideas and the very last types of people who you would wish to rule over you.

Laurie Penny is living proof that beauty really is only skin deep and that a person could be the nicest looking person in the world but still be an awful fool when it comes to politics. It should never be forgotten that some of our most physically unattractive politicians, like Churchill for instance, have been our best leaders.

I’ll leave you with this comment on the matter from Twitter, from Ivor Grumble ( @IvorGrumble ) which summed up for me what is wrong with the Left when they said:

Actually Labour supporters vandalizing a cenotaph sums up succinctly why Labour lost. Shitting all over our heritage, culture and freedom.

Lefty simians… throwing their faeces out of their cages.
A good stiff dose of communism, a la Stalin. would focus their
    tiny minds
They couldn’t object to that, could they?

  2. Ms Penny fails to understand that “the destruction of the welfare state” is the infantilisation of its client base, the totalitarian mindset of its functionaries and the cost in lost jobs caused by its insatiable appetite for more taxes. The dissolution of the welfare state will free the people it destroys.

  3. If I really wanted to marginalise the Left and make them irrelevant that is probably what I would do, they are the gift that keeps on giving

This woman is only a Socialist because she lives in a political system which allows her to choose her political affiliation and because she can financially afford to be. If she lived in a single political system where she had no choice but to support the political party she was told to, and be made to distribute her wealth to the ‘workers’, I believe her innermost mind would be different. I always remember Arthur Scarily leaving this country to live in the Socialist workers paradise of East Germany because of some disagreement with the government of the day. He didn’t last all that long before he came scurrying back.

Damn autocorrect. That should be Arthur Scargill, though he was a bit scary in those days.

Oh come on. She’s not a bad looking girl, but she’s not going to make anyone forget Catherine Deneuve. Or Eva Longoria. Or Sandra Bullock. Or Audrey Hepburn. Or Tzipi Livni. Or Tina Fey. Or… (fill in your own fantsy figure.

Now Tina Fey, now your talking! I’d also add to that list Dana Delaney, Susanna Reid, Karen Gillan, Beth Ditto, Debbie Harry and Rita Tushingham. I agree with you about the classic beauty possessed by some of your other choices. But for me,my wife is more beautiful than all of them.

    I quite fancy Tzipi.
It all stems from the genitalia you know!
