I bet this one is not a Buddhist (with added correction)

CORRECTION:

More details have come out about this particular case and it turns out that that person arrested seems to have been someone who had been fighting against ISIS in Syria.  The person arrested appears to be called Jamie Janson a relative for the late disgraced minister John Profumo.  This was not an arrest of a jihadi but instead an arrest of someone who had been fighting against jihadis.  Apologies for the erroneous report below.  As is usual policy for this blog erroneous reports stand but are marked with a correction like this one. See this link for more details on this case

A man in his early forties who travelled to the UK by coach, has been arrested by anti-terror police in Kent. The suspect, who is believed to have been involved in the Syria conflict and lived in Kent, was caught trying to enter the UK. He’s been arrested on charges of engaging in conduct related to terrorism.

Here’s a report on this case from Talk Radio.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of terror offences as he entered the UK from France on a coach.

The man was detained at Folkestone, Kent, at around 12.50am on Tuesday, police said.

The arrest relates to the Syrian conflict, the Metropolitan Police added.

The detained man is being held under section 5 of the Terrorism Act – which prohibits anyone engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism – and is being held at a police station in Kent.

A 26-year-old man from Kent has today been arrested by counter-terrorism policing South-East officers on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000,” said a police spokesperson.

He has been detained at a police station in the south-east for questioning. A residential address in Kent is being searched in connection with the ongoing investigation.”

So, who’s thinking ‘Islam’ when they read this story? I know I am. This arrest, especially as it involves ‘Syria’, is more than likely to be related in some way shape or form to Islam. Of course it could well be an arrest of a person who had been fighting ISIS, but going on past form this is more than possible that this arrest is connected to Islamic terror and Islamic terror groups.

One thing that is probably without question is this person who has been arrested is almost certainly not a Buddhist, a Jain, a Hindu, Christian or a Jew which leaves, yes you guessed it, the religion of un-peace. Whilst I commend the police for catching this person it do wonder how any other similar dodgy characters have managed to slip through into the UK without being caught? It’s good that this person has been caught, I cannot deny that. However, it does little to properly ameliorate the threat that a large number of other followers of the ideology of Islam, both those who have entered Britain from overseas and those who are lurking in our Islamic communities pose to the rest of us
