Happy New Year to all this blog’s Jewish readers

At sunset tonight the Jewish festival of Rosh Hashanah starts and goes on for some, depending on what Jewish denomination you are, until Tuesday night and for others until Monday night. Rosh Hashanah is as the Hebrew name says, the head of the year and is for Jews the start of a new calendar year.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all this blog’s Jewish readers Shanah Tova, a good year and I pray that may this forthcoming year be more peaceful than the previous one and that everyone has a year of love and life and of health and friendship. I also wish to everyone, whether they be Jewish or not, a good year filled with happiness and fulfilment.

Rosh Hashanah is one of those times when I try not to ‘do’ politics if I can help it, so I shall be back writing again after the festival has concluded.
