This vexatious complaint by a Muslim stinks more than the fart he is whining about

A Muslim employee of Tescos in Thornton Heath in Surrey is whining to an Employment Tribunal that other staff were farting in his general direction and also farting with racist intent. My first response to reading this story that is being carried by Birmingham Live and which I was sent (thanks TB) was to laugh and secondly to be gobsmacked at what looks like to be particularly groundless and vexatious case that this Muslim is bringing.

Birmingham Live said:

A supermarket worker is suing his company after a colleague “broke wind in his face”.

Atif Masood, a customer assistant with Tesco, has alleged he was bullied for being a Muslim.

The retail worker is suing the supermarket giant for harassment and race discrimination.

Tesco is Britain’s biggest grocer, with a string of stores across Birmingham and throughout the wider Midlands region.

The 42-year-old claims the incident at a branch in Thornton Heath, South London, was not investigated properly – and is now demanding £20,000.

Personally I think the bullshit that Masood is coming out with in this complaint probably smells a whole lot worse than what may well be a poorly timed and wholly accidental fart by Masood’s colleague. After all who hasn’t accidentally ‘dropped one’ at an inappropriate moment in a lift or a wedding or even at work? Shit, or rather uncontrollable farts, can happen to anyone and anywhere.

I must admit I’m pretty angry at what is a really petty and seemingly fact-lite case being brought by Masood. It’s not enough, evidence-wise to merely claim that there was ‘too much racism’ at the Tesco store and expect to be believed, he has to produce solid evidence for this claim and an unfortunately timed or out of place fart is really not really good enough. This cheeky Islamic savage is demanding £20k from Tescos in a case that looks to me remarkably like a ‘racism shakedown’ of the company for the possible purposes of personal gain.

Tescos is fighting this case hard and denies any culture of racism at the store and when they investigated the case of the fart found insufficient CCTV evidence to take the matter further. Although Masood may deny it of course this case really does look to me one based on little more than vexatious whining and I do hope that is thrown out and that Masood and his scheme to grab £20k from Tescos coffers is rejected. This case really stinks far more odiously than ever the fart in question could have stank.
