‘Satan-sniffer’ hoaxer remanded in custody pending sentencing next month

I have been following the case of the appalling Sabine McNeil, one of the major drivers of the truly terrible Hampstead Satanic Ritual Abuse hoax, which concluded recently at Southwark Crown Court. This hoax which involved an easily disprovable story of Satanic Ritual Abuse occurring in a church school in Hampstead, saw many innocent parents in the Hampstead area accused by McNeil and her associates of the most terrible crimes against children. The result of the hoax which McNeil played a large part in publicising, saw mobs of tin foil hat loonies harassing innocent churchgoers in Hampstead with accusations that they were ‘in league with the Devil’.

I fully expected that McNeil would be sentenced yesterday after being convicted last week on stalking and breach of a restraining order charges. But time constraints and the need for the judge to consider victim impact statements, has delayed the sentencing of McNeil until the 9th of January 2019. After reading the account of the first phase of the sentencing hearing which took place yesterday at Southwark Crown court it looks very likely that McNeil is going to get an immediate custodial sentence.

It gives me no pleasure to imagine the prospect of an elderly woman being sent to prison for a non violent offence, but I don’t think that the Judge will have much alternative but to impose an immediate custodial sentence. This is because there are statutory provisions that require a five to ten year term of imprisonment for stalking and the aggravating factor of the breach of a previously imposed court restraining order also needs to be taken into account. In addition there is the matter of the damage that this hoax has done to blameless families and individuals, along with the fact that McNeil continued to promote this hoax despite ample evidence that the whole ‘Hampstead Satanic Ritual Abuse’ story was complete bollocks.

We are all human, we can all make mistakes and back the wrong groups or the wrong causes at times. This is something that I am guilty of myself. For example: I used to be a Lefty but realised later in life that the sort of Left wingery I used to support was damaging both my country and the people that I love. I was able to abrogate my previous views when evidence was presented to me that I was wrong and this is the route that Sabine McNeil should have taken. If McNeil had realised that there was overwhelming evidence that there was not a ‘Satanic death cult’ operating in Hampstead she should have pulled back from the hoax and publicly admitted that she was wrong. If she had done that then maybe she would not be sitting in a prison cell awaiting what is likely to be a hefty gaol sentence.

Because of Sabine McNeil’s actions wholly innocent people have had to live their lives in fear of violence and intimidation from the sorts of ‘Satan-sniffers’ that she helped to unleash. Blameless parents caught up in McNeil’s web of Satan-hunting knobwittery had to institute security procedures to protect themselves and their families from McNeil’s Satan obsessed lunatic followers. Parents had to forbid their children from answering their home telephones or opening their front doors for fear that one or more of the conspiraloons that followed McNeil would be either on the phone or on the other side of the door.

Although I’m a bit of a free speech fundamentalist and believe that the best way to deal with these Satan hunting loons is to challenge them with evidence, this was not a free speech related case, this was a stalking case. Sabine McNeil’s actions did not merely create criticism of those targetted, she created what can only be accurately described as Satan obsessed mobs. None of the parents caught up in the Hampstead ‘satanic panic’ were public figures who might quite reasonably have to accept some degree of public criticism for their words and actions, these were private citizens who had their worlds turned upside down by McNeil and her promulgation of the Hampstead Satanic abuse hoax.

I hope that any sentence that is imposed on Sabine McNeil, and it is likely to be a lengthy one, will concentrate the minds of the others who have been involved in promoting this hoax to a greater or lesser degree. These individuals have been said to have behaved appallingly, issuing threats of violence and targetting the innocent for abuse. There have also been individuals who have been involved in naming witnesses whose identity has been protected by the court, because identifying them could in turn identify the minors at the heart of this case who were coerced into making the original ‘Satanic abuse’ allegations. The conviction of McNeil now opens the way for those victimised by these horrible Satan-sniffers to bring criminal and civil actions against those who have falsely accused them of abuse and who have also been part of the mobs that they have had to suffer from.

In addition to my hope that any sentence that McNeil gets for her stalking and breach of court orders will deter others from promoting this Satanic abuse guff, I also hope that others not connected to this scandal will take note of it. I am especially aiming my comment here at those who lead Britain’s growing civic nationalist movement. I have noticed a worrying trend for those promoting unprovable ‘Satan’ allegations and similar conspiraloon bollocks turning up at various patriot demonstrations. This is something that the leadership of patriot groups need to get to grips with.

Whilst it is all but impossible to prevent deluded individuals who believe in Satanic Ritual Abuse or those who believe in ‘Freemen on the Land’ type woo or who believe similar shit from turning up at demonstrations, something needs to be done to prevent the views of these loonies from gaining traction. This is I believe a priority as many of those attending patriot demos, and who are also being targetted by the tin foil hatters, are people who are relatively newly politicised because of the issues of Brexit and Islamic crime. People who are only now coming into political awareness may find themselves as easy prey for the Satan-sniffers, freemen on the land idiots and similar bollocks promoters.

The very last thing that the patriot and civic nationalist movement in Britain needs right now is to be associated with the sort of mentally disturbed individuals who believe that things like Pizzagate are real. This burgeoning patriot movement could lose a whole lot of potential supporters among normal people if it is discovered that the leadership of patriot groups are allowing these sort of conspiraloons influence in their groups. Britain and its people faces a number of problems that are connected to the damage done by the political Left, from political correctness and from Islam. We will not solve these problems or build a movement to tackle these problems if we are seen or our leaders are seen to be giving support and succour to unbalanced people with equally unbalanced views.

Sabine McNeil looks as if she is going down for a long time. We should work to ensure that the growing civic nationalist movement does not go down with her. We can do this by turning our backs, both literally and figuratively, on the sort of people who promote Satanic abuse fantasies and similar lunacy, when they try to infiltrate our organisations and our protests.
