Another ‘I told you this would happen’ incident, this time with added police overreaction.

A stereotypical angry mob from one of the Frankenstein movies

The aftermath of the admittedly awful killings in a New Zealand mosque in the UK have been interesting to say the least. If nothing else it has exposed the tension and division that exists between Islam and its followers and everybody else.

For example: I’m seeing a lot of people who are angered, and in my view justifiably so, about the blanket coverage of the New Zealand mosque murders, and miniscule amount of air time given to the far greater number of those killed, by Muslims acting in the name of their ideology. Since the end of January of this year, not a long time really, there have been numerous attacks on both non-Muslims and Muslims, by Muslims. I’ve totted up the death toll from these attacks and they come to over 1000. That’s a lot of deaths for the mainstream media to either ignore completely or cover in a grossly perfunctory way. There is a dichotomy of coverage situation that exists where 49 deaths of Muslims caused by one lunatic are headline news for days yet the awful figure of a kilo-death caused by Muslims who follow Islam is pushed to one side and not covered in the detail that these deaths deserve.

In Britain the police have dropped everything and rushed to protect mosques, have wasted valuable police resources to shut down ‘wrong-thinkers’ online and have put on reassurance patrols in Islam dominated areas. This activity by the authorities is starting to look counterproductive. From my observations, all this flurry of Islamopandering style activity is doing is strengthening the impression that some people have that in the minds of the police and other government authorities, some animals are more equal than others. Others, some quite hotheaded it seems, appear also to have picked up the impression, either correctly or incorrectly, that the police and the authorities, as well as the media, seem to care more for the followers of Islam than they do for anyone else.

Some of the aforementioned hotheads, as I have predicted in other ‘I told you this would happen’ pieces, have started to engage in acts of violence and destruction of property. Thankfully for the sake of peace, these incidents are, with the exception of one stabbing in West London, relatively minor as far as I can make out. They are also few and far between and thankfully far less than I feared that they could be.

I would expect there to be a lot of police resources put into an attempted murder of the sort that is alleged to have occurred in West London where a Muslim man was stabbed by a non Muslim man said in reports to be angry at Islam. This is bodily harm and I would hope that sufficient police resources were put into investigating such an offence. However, the way that the West Midlands Police have reacted, or rather overreacted, to some mosque window breakages in the Birmingham area, is not in my view, a good use of police resources.

According to several reports, for example those from the BBC and from TalkRadio, there has been a flurry of criminal damage aimed at mosques in the Midlands. These outlets are stating that one man managed to smash the windows of five different mosques spread over a relatively wide area.

The BBC said:

Five mosques in Birmingham have been targeted in a string of violent attacks overnight and into the morning.

Reports of a man smashing windows with a sledgehammer on Birchfield Road were received at 02:30 GMT, police said.

Officers were then alerted to a similar attack in Erdington about 45 minutes later, with more in Aston and Perry Barr reported. Another on Albert Road was struck at 10:00 GMT.

I must say that this is a suspiciously high number of relatively widely spread out mosques to get hit for one person to have carried out the attacks? Could it be that there was more than one mosque assailant or are one of more of these mosque attacks fraudulent as some ‘hate crimes’ have been found to be in the USA? There is much speculation out there that as this damage is superficial, not wildly destructive like say arson would be, that some Muslims may have hit their own mosques in order to gain sympathy following the New Zealand attacks.

Personally I don’t think that this is the case, although fraud should not be completely ruled out. This linked piece by American conservative writer Michelle Malkin contains a worryingly long list of faked ‘hate crimes’ in which Muslims have claimed to have suffered threats, assaults and have had their places of worship damaged, only for it to be later revealed that these Muslims were lying. Faked ‘hate crimes’ are a reality and should be condemned no matter who does them. As I said, if these acts of criminal damage are not faked ‘hate crimes’, then I believe it’s possible that they are the work of more than one vandal. Although I condemn the criminal damage that has occurred, the possibility that there is more than one person in Birmingham angry enough at having Islam pushed into their faces to engage in acts of destruction should be considered.

West Midlands Police said it was yet to establish a motive.

Are West Midlands Police having a laugh here? Assuming that these acts of criminal damage are not fake ‘hate crimes’ then the motivation for them looks obvious, a person or persons unknown have got so pissed off with Islam that the have crossed the line into criminality.

Officers from its Counter Terrorism Unit were investigating, the force said.

West Midlands Police seem to be losing their heads here. At the end of the day these acts of criminal damage were just that, relatively minor acts of criminal damage and should be investigated as any other crime of this sort should be investigated. The bringing in of WMP’s Counter Terrorism Unit is going completely over the top. Did the CTU become involved in 2017 when a man burst into a church in Birmingham and stabbed three people? Of course they did not. Although the 2017 incident later turned out to be non terrorism related, the police sussed out early on that this wasn’t terrorism and treated it accordingly. Why on earth can the WMP not do the same with these incidents of criminal damage?

If the police don’t know the motive, which is what they are claiming why are they treating it as terror? This is a matter than should be dealt with by general not specialist police units. The use of the CTU in this way also takes highly trained specialist officers away from dealing with the very real and genuine threat of violence and terror coming from within the Islamic community itself. It would not surprise me one bit if somewhere down the line we hear of some children or innocent people killed in a jihad attack, an attack that could have been stopped had not the CTU been babysitting Birmingham’s Islamic community.

Yousef Zaman, chairman of Masjid Faizul Islam mosque in Aston, said: “My initial reaction was shock that this had happened.

Shock? Really? So you expected us all to love you and your ideology despite the massive death toll that your ideology has racked up across the world? Personally I’m not shocked by this criminal damage but I am saddened by it. I would much rather see people use their sometimes justifiable anger at Islam in a positive way, such as campaigning for a political solution to the nation’s Islam related problems, of which there are now sadly a great deal.

“There’s a fear factor now in that adults are saying they’re going to keep their children away from the mosque today because they’re worried that it’s not safe.

Whilst I cannot condone any action that makes any child, Muslim or non Muslim feel unsafe, I can’t help but notice that safety and security is a concern for Muslims when it is their safety in question. I don’t recall massive amounts of concern coming from the various Muslim mouthpieces out there for the safety of the rest of us. I have seen precious little concern from these Islamic spokesmen for the security of those who are threatened and sometimes gravely injured or killed by Muslims, who are acting either in the name of Islam or who are influenced by an aggressive and supremacist Islamic culture.

“But we’re not going to stop worship, we’re going to carry on as normal, we won’t let them win, we will defy them.”

Of course it won’t stop them worshipping. These incidents are as we can relatively minor acts of criminal damage. There were no fires set, little if any internal damage caused and the external damage was limited to windows being broken, of course they will carry on. As for their defiance then defiance is damn easy when you have the very obvious backing of the police and the rest of the state. ‘Defiance’ is far less easy in situations where the State and the governing culture is against you rather than standing with you. Defiance is much harder for example for Egyptian Copts or Christians in Northern Nigeria or Pakistan as they have to defy a culture and in some cases governments who despise rather than pander to them.

He said a summit was planned to discuss security around the mosques.

A summit that I suggest could be summed up by a group of Muslims telling the police ‘gimmee, gimmee, gimmee more police resources’.

The overreaction by WMP by bringing in the CTU and the hand-wringing about these window breakages from WMP’s Chief Constable Dave Thompson, may play well with certain elements in the Islamic community and with the political Left, but they do little to convince others that we are being policed equally. This is especially the case when we consider that Chief Constable Thompson has a long and undistinguished record for various types of Islamopandering ranging from expressing support for the idea of police officers in burkhas and doing the square root of sod all about issues such as FGM.

Chief Constable Thompson said in response to these incidents of window breakages (my comments in plain text):

“At the moment we don’t know the motive for last night’s attacks.

Are you sure about that or are you in possession of more knowledge than you are letting on? Is there more than one assailant or do you suspect that one of more of these incidents may be difficult to verify?

“What I can say is that the force and the Counter Terrorism Unit are working side-by-side to find whoever is responsible.”

The WMP is probably working considerably harder on tracking down these mosque attackers than they ever did tracking down other criminals, for example the large number of ‘Asian’ – for that read Muslim – sex offenders that are alleged to have afflicted the city of Birmingham.

Mr Thompson added: “Since the tragic events in Christchurch, New Zealand, officers and staff from West Midlands Police have been working closely with our faith partners across the region to offer reassurance and support at mosques, churches and places of prayer.”

Why on Earth do police forces need ‘faith partners’? The police’s job is to prevent and investigate crime not play footsie with mosques, and let’s face it, despite CC Thompson’s invocation of churches and other ‘places of prayer’, he mostly means mosques. The fact that the police are partnering with mosques and with some groups that deserve to be criticised, doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence that the people of the West Midlands area are being policed effectively or indeed equitably. The image that CC Thompson and his staff are giving is of a police force that will pull out all the stops for Muslims who’ve had their windows broken, but would only be arsed to hand out a crime number for insurance purposes if it was a non Muslim who had had their property attacked in this way. This is not a good image and it is really not a good look for any police force to have. We are supposed to be policed equitably yet here we see a police force abjectly pandering to one group whilst giving the distinct impression that they are putting two fingers up to everyone else.

If a police chief wanted to give the public the impression of being a man who is enthusiastic about engaging in political fellatio with Birmingham’s Muslim community then he’s succeeded. CC Thompson has however failed to give the impression that all Birmingham residents are policed equally no matter what their race or belief system.

To conclude: These window breaking incidents are stuff that I’ve warned would happen in the past if there was not a proper political solution to Islam and some public debate about the influence on our society by this ideology. Without a political solution to the now obvious problems that Islam has brought here and without open public debate about Islam, a debate that must occur without fear of arrest for ‘speech crimes’, then there will always be idiots who want to take the law into their own hands and become vigilantes. Is it any wonder that in a society that all but forbids the subject from speaking ill of Islam that hotheads, such as those suspected of the attacks in Birmingham, will crawl out from the woodwork and take sledgehammers to mosque windows? Maybe if our political classes had allowed an open debate about Islam, encompassing both the good and the downright foul about this ideology, and not been so censorious, then we might have been spared the phenomenon of angry vigilantes breaking the windows of mosques. Free speech is called by some ‘societies safety valve’ for a good reason. Allowing people to openly and freely express their dislike of Islam or any other ideology for that matter may have directed these sledgehammer wielders down a more peaceful and political path to dealing with the clash of civilisations that is starting to take place in Britain’s towns and cities.

I do not approve of vigilantism, never have and probably never will. Vigilantes have a nasty habit of going after the low hanging fruit of the innocent instead of the more difficult to reach fruit which are the real Islamic troublemakers. I doubt whether any of the mosques that were targetted recently in Birmingham were known extremist mosques which to my mind illustrates the pointlessness and stupidity and injustice of vigilantism in going after the easy and not the ‘correct’ target.

I do not believe that the way the police have reacted to these incidents will help matters. It will just increase a sense of injustice among those who get piss poor policing whilst seeing the Islamic communities get better policing than they experience.
