This is one of those times when I wished I lived in a cottage in the middle of Dartmoor. I wish this because then I would be in the South West England and Gibraltar Euro Parliamentary constituency and be eligible to vote for the UKIP candidate Carl Benjamin aka Sargon of Akkad.
I try not to advise people how to vote, although I do set out voting options to achieve a particular goal and try to explain why I think the way I do. However, in this piece I will make somewhat of an exception and advise those who can to vote for Mr Benjamin in the upcoming Euro Parliament election. Now I will not lie to you and say that if elected Mr Benjamin will be able to change things in Strasbourg as the Euro parliament isn’t a proper parliament with the ability to propose legislation. The Euro Parliament is merely a device for giving the impression of democratic legitimacy to decisions made by the European Commission. It is little more than a supine rubber stamp assembly with little or no power.
But, despite the fact that the Euro Parliament is toothless and useless, voting or Carl Benjamin will do a lot of good. It will do good by putting in the parliament someone who will ‘disturb the peace’ in all the right ways. Electing Mr Benjamin will do the following:
It will put another Brexit-committed voice in Strasbourg
It will discomfort the anti democratic European Commission
It will annoy the appalling, censorious, anti free speech, socialist harridan Jess Phillips
It will give a voice to the many Britons who feel that we have lost most of our free speech rights
It will upset the Remainiacs
It will piss off Dianne Abbott
It will severely wind up and annoy the BBC
It will embarrass Theresa May
It will be a political punch in the face for the Green ‘Watermelon’ party who are green on the outside but Communist Red on the inside.
It will cause problems for Britain’s increasingly politically correct police forces as it is much more difficult to silence an elected member of any Parliament for saying ‘hurty words’ than it is for the police to do this to the ordinary Joe
It will cause the violent and intolerant left to have a complete meltdown
It will freak out those who live in the Westminster Bubble
It will upset the Janus-faced Liberal Democrat Party
Carl Benjamin is fighting this election not for himself, which many other candidates are doing, but instead is fighting for you and for your rights and for the right of our nation to be free of the increasingly imperialistic European Union. Vote Carl Benjamin. Vote UKIP. Vote freedom.
