Boris Johnson isn’t ‘phobic’ about Islam, but he does understand it.

Boris Johnson. Former PM and an utter failure.

Various Islamic grievance mongers, the Left and those who engage in liberal virtue-signalling have been having a field day recently attacking Boris Johnson, the man who in a few days may be Britain’s new Prime Minister. This chorus of the permanently and sometimes professionally offended have been calling Mr Johnson an ‘Islamophobe’ for making a comparison between the achievements of the West and the backwardness of many Islamic societies and nations.

What the offendotron chorus is not taking into account before shrieking about ‘Islamophobia’ is that Mr Johnson is broadly correct in his assessment of why the Islamic world is so damn backward and culturally and scientifically retarded when compared to other cultures. Mr Johnson was correct to point out that there is no Islamic equivalent of masterpieces such as the Sistine Chapel or anything like the regulated capitalism that has built the west or even any analogue of Western democracy. He was also right to point out that it is Islamic theology and the culture of ‘ask no questions just obey’ that it creates that has made art and science and other forms of development both economical and intellectual, not just difficult, but in some cases completely taboo.

The theology of Islam has robbed those nations that it controls of the tools that are needed in order to develop as a culture. Islam’s lack of curiosity about the world and its taboo over images of people has meant that Islam has produced no art that compares with the art of the West and very few Muslims win real Nobel Prizes for things like the sciences. Many of the Nobel Prizes that Muslims win are what has become the booby Nobel Prize, the Nobel Peace Prize. This was once given to people who genuinely advanced the cause of peace, now it seems to have become a bit of a ‘participation trophy’ dished out to various Muslims or pro-Muslim individuals in order to make it seem as if achievement is more culturally spread out that it really is.

Mr Johnson is 100% correct, it is Islam that has retarded the Islamic world and it has done this by forbidding intellectual curiosity and individualism. Like many other forms of authoritarian collectivism such as Communism and Fascism, Islam does not create countries and cultures that celebrate learning, instead they celebrate unquestioning obedience. This is something that is incompatible with the sort of cultures in the West that created both great art and science. It is Islam and only Islam that has created nations that are so far behind other nations that don’t follow Islam. It is no accident that it was the people of the West and especially of the free nation of the United States that put a man on the moon fifty years ago whereas the Islamic world too often can barely produce people capable of barking at the moon.

I must admit I do not entirely trust Mr Johnson to deliver what he has promised regarding Brexit and neither do I have masses of confidence that he can deal with the Remainer obsessives in his own party. However, when it comes to an honest assessment of why the Islamic world is the way that it is, Mr Johnson is spot on.  He certainly understands Islam and the damage it has done to the nations that it has conquered and absorbed over the centuries.
