Possible novel ‘Porn Protest’ at Welsh mosque

It seems that those residents of Grangetown in the Welsh capital city of Cardiff might have found a novel way to protest about the ideology of Islam. This particular protest method does no real harm to either persons or property, it is I note, satisfyingly non violent. This protest didn’t even leave the merest trace or hint of bacon fat, it does however seem to have really pissed off some Muslims and the politicians and police to who often enthusiastically do the bidding of the Islamic community.

Some wag or possibly wags, could have realised that despite Islam being a sex obsessed misogynistic ideology that treats women as sex objects for the use of men, many Muslims consider pornography to be anathema. Porn sends some Muslims into fits of rage and disgust, despite their ideology being founded by a man, Mohammed, who if he was around today, would be on the UK Sex Offenders Register for life.

The Wales Online site is reporting that Muslims at the Grangetown Muslim Cultural Centre are up in arms over the discovery of porn that they say had been placed around the outside of the building one night. From what I can gather, at least from this source, the porn didn’t ‘blow in’ or ‘miraculously’ appear under a hedge (like it did when I was a teenager), but was deliberately placed maybe as some form of protest.

The reaction from the various Islamopanderers in local politics and the police has been, as expected, completely over the top, with the police promising to investigate this incident and the politicos wittering on about ‘cohesion’ and ‘diversity’. The Wales Online story (h/t ROP) did not, of course, ask any questions why someone would want to chuck porn at a mosque, but instead concentrated on the ‘hurty feelings’ of the Muslim group and the hand-wringing by local politicians.

Below is the Wales Online article along with my comments. As is usual policy for this blog, the original source is in italics whereas my comments are in plain text.

Police have launched an investigation after porn was dumped outside a Cardiff mosque in what is thought to be a targeted attack.

Wow! If the local police can afford the resources to investigate this alleged incident then Grangetown must be a delightful crime-free haven of peace. Oh hang on a minute. That’s not the case is it? A brief look at some crime statistics for the area shows that there are notable crime problems. Amongst other worrying crime numbers for Grangetown, which has a population of just over 19,000, are the figures for violent crimes reported between 2018 and 2019. The statistics show that there were 605 violent crimes reported along with 546 incidents of anti-social behaviour and 235 cases of criminal damage or arson. Surely the officers of South Wales Police have got better things to do with the resources, that we all pay for, than pander to the whines of Muslims ‘offended’ by some tits in print?

Officials at the Grangetown Muslim Cultural Centre (GMCC) were left shocked as they opened up the building last week and found several naked images of women left outside an entrance.

Doesn’t even sound like hard core porn does it? Sounds just like the sort of stuff you used to be able to find in Escort or similar magazines back in the 1980’s. This incident doesn’t even seem to have involved a lot of porn either, the word used by the report which was ‘several’, suggests that only one or two items were placed there.

After checking CCTV footage centre secretary Tariq Awan said it was clear the photos had been “deliberately placed to cause offence”.

So what? Suck it up. Pick the porn up shove it in the bin and get on with your day. That’s how I and other sensible people, those of us without a permanent victim mentality would deal with this issue. I wonder if Mr Awan has considered if this is a protest by those offended by Islam? There are a lot of things that I and many others find offensive about this ideology of rape, murder and conquest, but which we are told by our rulers to not speak about. It is quite possible that someone angered by Islam decided that they’d engage in a ‘porn protest’, but equally it could merely be teenagers being teenagers and chucking bits of nudie book around.

“We are very annoyed and extremely upset to receive this kind of this hate mail,” he added.

It’s not ‘mail’, Mr Awan. It was not delivered in the post and wasn’t even pushed through the letterbox. It was, as the report said ‘dumped’ outside.

“Our newly-installed CCTV cameras captured the image of the offender which has been shared with the police.”

A police force no doubt that will suddenly drop their attention from the very real crime problems of Grangetown and go into full ‘Islamic fellatio’ mode.

Thankfully the offensive material was binned just before children were due to arrive for a class.

Which of course meant that the children having avoided the ‘offensive’ sight of some printed tits and arse, could proceed to be taught the far more offensive and indeed dangerous, ideology contained within the Koran and the Hadith. Anyone with a functioning moral compass would know that a couple of pages from a porn mag is far less of a problem than an ideology that teaches kids to hate Jews and Christians and put women into oppressive ‘prison sacks’.

However the incident has saddened and angered many in Grangetown – both Muslims and non Muslims – given the centre’s ties with the local community.

Here comes the appeasement and virtue-signalling

Local councillor Ashley Lister said: “The centre has done a lot of charitable and good work in Grangetown. For example, the children who attend there regularly take part in litter-picks and they also donate to local foodbanks. And they also donated money to several charities during Ramadan as well.

I’d love to see a full list of this ‘charitable’ work. Judging by the examples that Mr Lister has given it’s nothing more than one would expect from a religious organisation at a very basic level. It’s nothing exceptional or special. I’d also like to see what ‘charities’ the mosque donated to during Ramadan as not all Islamic charities are as equal in their operations as some non Muslim charities are. Also I wonder if any of these ‘charities’ have links with jihad or extremism? This is sadly something that must be considered when dealing with Islamic ‘charities’.

“Grangetown is a very diverse and cohesive community so I could not imagine that it would be someone locally who has done this.”

Step outside your multiculti bubble Mr Lister and you may find many locals who are none too happy with Islam.

The incident was also been condemned by the Muslim Council of Wales. “It’s a serious matter. I hope the authorities take necessary action that these type of activities do not happen again,” a spokesman said. “Whatever action is taken against the individual it will act as a deterrent for other individuals.”

Well they would say that wouldn’t they? It’s just another Muslim group wanting metaphorical blood because some Muslim has been ‘offended’.

South Wales Police confirmed it was investigating the incident.

A force spokeswoman said: “On September 20 South Wales Police received a report of offensive images being left outside a mosque on Clydach Street, Grangetown, the previous day. Inquiries are on going to identify the person responsible.”

Probably by taking time off and resources away from real crime no doubt. The residents of Grangetown must I suppose feel very gratified that the resources that the taxpayer has provided to South Wales Police are being spent in this way, instead of properly investigating the 2935 reports of crime and anti-social behaviour that afflicted Grangetown between August 2018 to July 2019.

If this is a small but peaceful protest against Islam by local people, then it is very reminiscent of similar protests that have occurred in Israel. Those protesting in Israel against pious Jews, Charadim, who want to shirk their responsibility for the defence of Israel and avoid the draft, have also realised that porn can be a weapon. As a way of enraging the Charadim and getting them to physically back off, the more secular Jews realised that the porn is like Kryptonite to some Charadim. Therefore during some demonstrations those opposed to the Charadim not being called up to fight, threw bundles of porn mags at them. The sight of images of naked women, the naked women that Charadim are not supposed to look at, caused the Charedi protestors to back off.

I see this sort of ‘porn throwing’ protest as fitting in with classic non-violent direct action (NVDA) techniques as it does no real harm but makes a point. In this particular case, if this is an example of NVDA, then two things have been accomplished by it. The first is that the Muslims at the centre of this alleged incident are showing yet again how too many of the followers of Islam are ‘offended by everything and ashamed of nothing’, but also has exposed to the public the police and political establishment’s eagerness to fawn over and pander to the ideology of Islam.

Although the porn protest technique has been used elsewhere, notably in Israel, it is the first time I’ve heard of it happening in Britain and in this situation where a mosque has been allegedly targeted. If this is part of an organised protest then it is the sort that has its roots in the ancient British custom of ‘rough musicking’ that was practised since early Medieval times and which has been mentioned in novels such as Noel Streatfields ‘Thursday’s Child’. In Rough Musicking, a procession of villagers would gather outside the house of an adulterer or other person who have offended the community and bang on pots and pans in order to humiliate the offender. Rough Musicking lasted, some say into the 1970’s. Maybe this phenomenon has come out of the history books and taken a new form that of porn bombs at mosques rather than gathering outside and bashing on kitchenware?
