MP’s moaning about how hated they are have only themselves to blame

Dominic Cummings

There’s an article on Sky News today featuring Dominic Cummings, Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s special advisor. In this article Mr Cummings makes the valid and cogent point that although threats to kill or harm are wrong, it is natural for the public to be angry at how Members of Parliament have tried to kill off Brexit.

Mr Cummings is to my view correct. Much of the criticism that these MP’s are getting and much of the opprobrium that the public holds MP’s in, is down to the refusal of parliamentarians to implement what we the people voted for. Contrary to what many Remainers may say, many of us knew exactly what we were voting for and that was a clean break from the European Union, it’s rules and its courts.

Many of the MP’s who are getting some pungent criticism from members of the public went into the last General Election promising faithfully that they would respect the result of the 2016 Referendum. It is now obvious to many of us that these MP’s have lied to us as since the last General Election much of the membership of the House of Commons has gone hell for leather to disregard the people’s will and shackle Britain to the EU. To many of us this looks like treason on the part of the parliamentarians as the House of Commons derives its own sovereignty from being elected by the people. These MP’s promised us they’d respect the result but have spent most of the time since reneging on that promise.

Because of these remain supporting traitors in the House of Commons, Britain is much more unstable politically than it has been for a long time. These Remainers don’t care about that or about how much damage they have done to our Constitution, just as long as they, and their very wealthy backers, get their way. The Remainers have brought their own problems down upon themselves which is why I will not grieve because some of them get called nasty names.

  1. Agree absolutely. There is a covenant between Parliament and the people through which they make our laws with our consent, and we abide by those laws. They now refuse to adhere to their part of that covenant, so why should I consider myself bound by any of those laws?
