A recent Islamic terrorism case has been one of life imitating art to a certain extent. Like the incompetent Jihadis in the dark comedy movie Four Lions, Mohiussunnath Chowdhury was not only dedicated to killing non-Muslims but also laughably stupid.
Chowdhury is a jihadist whom the police have had a long term interest in and first came to light when he allegedly drove a car to Buckingham Palace with the intention of killing soldiers and challenging the Queen. During the run up to this incident Chowdhury erroneously programmed his satnav and instead of ending up at Windsor Castle in Windsor he ended up at a pub called the Windsor Castle in a completely different place. It was then that Chowdhury decided that he would change his target to Buckingham Palace. He was apprehended outside the palace whereupon he was said to have attacked police officers with a sword whilst shouting the Islamic war cry of Allah hu Akbar. When he came to trial the jury believed Chowdhury’s narrative that he was not a terrorist and was only trying to commit suicide by cop.
However, Chowdhury’s brush with the criminal justice system didn’t seem to cure him of being a Jihadi scummer. A short while after his trial for the Buckingham Palace incident was over, police officers, who had the good sense to put this savage under surveillance, noticed that Chowdhury was again back online and back encouraging jihad. Undercover officers engaged in contact with Chowdhury and kept an eye on him. The way that the police made contact with Chowdhury was particularly laughable, the police officers talked loudly about jihad in the chicken shop where Chowdhury worked and Chowdhury just accepted that these people were jihadis instead of what they really were which was police officers. Chowdhury didn’t even do the most basic of checking up on these men or take the smallest of precautions to ensure that the people he was talking to were not police officers.
During contact with Chowdhury it became clear to police that this savage had not given up his dreams of killing non-Muslims for Allah. Chowdhury spoke of a number of potential terror attacks including an attack on the big Gay Pride parade in Central London. When the police had gathered enough evidence that Chowdhury was a threat, they arrested him and he was brought to trial on terrorist offence charges whereupon this time he was convicted and is likely to spend an awful long time in gaol.
It’s easy to laugh at this particular savage, he is a bit like Waj, the hapless proto-terrorist in Four Lions whom their leader describes as a ‘special needs donkey’. We should allow ourselves a moment in which to laugh at this savage especially as he is said to have used the book Mohammed’s Koran by Tommy Robinson and Peter McLaughlin, which shows Islam going from peaceful faith to violent thug cult, to strengthen his conviction that Islam was violent and needed Muslims like him to be violent. The ironic thing about this case is that Tommy Robinson has been proved right about the violent nature of Islam as his assessment of Islam had been given the jihadi seal of approval with Chowdhury’s agreement with Mr Robinson that Islam is a violent ideology.
Yes, we can and should have a laugh at this jihadi’s complete incompetence but we should also be very concerned. Chowdhury is so utterly stupid that he is very much the low hanging fruit of the jihad world and therefore was very easy for the police to apprehend. But, we should be concerned that although it is good that this savage is being taken off the streets he’s only one of many thousands of Islamic terror suspects who walk our streets, many of whom are not a fraction as stupid or as careless as Chowdhury obviously is. It’s easy for the police to catch and watch the likes of Chowdhury who cannot keep their mouths shut but much harder to catch the more professional jihadi who understands things like information and human security or those who are very aware of the forensic processes that can lead to convicton.
We can have a laugh at this idiot but must also be on our guard against the more dangerous terrorist the ones who are not as stupid as Chowdhury. Despite this savage being taken off the streets not only are there many more individuals like him to take his place but the violent ideology of Islam that motivates these jihadis is still a massive problem for Britons and our security forces.
