Burkina Faso suffers yet more jihad

Location of Burkina Faso

Whilst the jihad problems in the West are undoubtably bad and getting worse, jihad in Africa has turned whole countries into violent nightmares and Christians into an endangered species. According to a report from the Christian organisation The Barnabas Fund, the West African nation of Burkina Faso has been afflicted by yet another jihad attack.

This time the jihad attack was on a Christian pastor and his family and resulted in the brutal killing both the pastor and three members of his family after they were abuducted by Islamic savages. Another church official, a Deacon, was murdered during the attack that resulted in the abduction of the pastor and his family.

The Barnabas Fund said:

Pastor Tindano Omar and three members of his family, who were kidnapped by Islamic extremists, were murdered by their captors on 13 February in Burkina Faso.

Lankoande Babilibilé, a deacon at the church, was murdered by the militants on 10 February, the night of the family’s kidnapping. His killers stole Babilibilé’s car and used it for the abduction from the village of Sebba, in northern Burkina Faso.

The pastor died along with his son and two of his nephews. Two of the pastor’s daughters, who were also abducted, were released unharmed. Pastor Tindano Omar is also survived by three other children who attend university in another region.

Islamist militants are stepping up murderous attacks in northern Burkina Faso. On 1 February, 18 people, including a Christian senior nurse, were murdered by militant gunmen in Lamdamol village, Seno province.

I’ve been watching the growth of jihad problems in Africa for a while now and they do seem to be getting worse. It used to be mainly Nigeria, at least in West Africa, that was afflicted by the problem of murderous jihadis targeting Christians, but now this problem has spread all across the region. No Christian or any other non-Muslim believer in this part of Africa can consider themselves to be safe from harm because of the spread of jihadism across the region. Previously safe places have become charnel houses and areas where Christians have lived for centuries have had their Christian population chased away. The jihad problems that countries like Burkina Faso are suffering from are making enfeebled economic and development situations much worse. It’s impossible to grow a country’s economy if violent Muslims are descending on villages and towns and slaughtering the Christian inhabitants.

I implore my readers, do not forget the burden that jihad is placing on Africa. We are all human, no matter what race or country or continent we come from and we are all at risk of the sort of savagery that Islamic jihadism has brought to Africa. People should also not forget about the jihad in Africa not just for moral and ethical reasons, but also for more self centred reasons as well. This is because I see nothing to suggest that what has happened in Africa with regards jihad could not happen elsewhere. What these jihadis do on the streets of the villages, towns and cit ies in Africa, could quite easily happen in places much closer geographically to us in the West. We need to see the jihad in Africa as a warning and guard against it happening here.
