Video – On this occasion the Muslim lads were in the right and the police were in the wrong.

As many regular readers of this site will know, I have little time and even less of a like for the ideology of Islam itself. However, that dislike of an ideology does not extent to those who may be decent in spite of the commands of Islam or those many individual Muslims who are not a threat to either myself or my nation.

Occasionally I have to stand up and say when a Muslim individual may be correct and in the right. The video below shows one such occasion where a couple of Muslim lads are correct and some bullying police officers are wrong.

A video that has appeared on the channel of Police Abusing Powers, which monitors abuse of power and bullying by British police officers, which shows officers allegedly from West Midlands Police giving unjustified hassle to a group of Muslim men queuing outside of a shop. The video shows officers of West Midlands Police getting in the faces of those queuing outside the shop, failing to keep any sort of distance between them and the people that the police are harassing and worst of all failing to wear any PPE.

The duo of one highly offensive and out of control officer accompanied by one slightly more less offensive officer approached those lining up outside the shop and started hassling them about social distancing. They continued to do this even after they were told that a small group that were standing together were from the same household and therefore exempt under the distancing guidelines from staying 2 metres apart.

The officer with the biggest gob and seemingly the smallest functioning cerebral cortex I’ve ever seen in a man in uniform, ignored this and continued to hassle the young men all the time whilst wearing his mask on his chin rather than over his mouth. You can view the video and the response to it by Dan of Police Abusing Powers below.

I’ve watched this video several times and I can’t shake the view that the police were really in the wrong here. It is conduct that should be both condemned by the public and punished by police management no matter whom it was directed at. What is ironic is that those who the police officer was hassling seemed to know more about the law as it pertains to Covid19 than the police officer himself did. This is disgraceful and bullying policing that needs to be called out. It seems that the only time that police, and West Midlands Police in particular, bother to police different communities equally is when they have the opportunity, which the Covid19 regulations give them, to be equally shitty and bullying to everyone.

I fear that the police’s bad behaviour and bullying of the public will not end at all well. The police have shot themselves in the foot in a very bad way. As I’ve said in other articles on the subject, the reputation of Britain’s police forces was already low among the general public, who have got fed up with the police ignoring real crime such as burglary and robbery, in favour of nice cushy desk jobs such as seeking out the speakers of ‘hurty words’. When this Covid19 emergency is over and hopefully some semblance of normality is restored, the police are going to wake up to the fact that they will get less cooperation than they should get from the general public. The police are by their own actions, creating a situation where even the hypothetical ‘man on the Clapham Omnibus’ is starting to despise those who are tasked with policing us. That’s not a good situation and it is certainly one that requires change.
