Jack Dorsey gets shredded

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey being questioned remotely by the US Senate.

The Republican Senator Ted Cruz may not be that familiar to British readers of this blog who are not engaged or interested in American politics, but I believe he is someone more Britons should be aware of because of his concerns about Big Tech. Over the course of the last six months to a year Senator Cruz has asked a great many awkward questions about the role that Big Tech plays in the world and in particular the influence it has over US politics.

He is streets away in quality and intellect from many British politicians who comment on matters pertaining to the internet who, unlike Senator Cruz, often seem mostly concerned with imposing yet more censorship. Senator Cruz on the other hand is very obviously concerned with free speech and ensuring that all Americans, no matter what their place on the political spectrum have access to the platforms that have become the digital town square.

The short video below should give you all a flavour of Senator Cruz and how he is doing his best to hold Big Tech to account. In this video he grills Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on the situation regarding the scandalous story of Hunter Biden’s laptop and its equally scandalous contents which are alleged to contain all sorts of nasties. In the run up to the recent American Presidential election, Twitter censored the New York Post newspaper and has refused to let the New York Post back into their Twitter account until the newspaper censors the story to Twitter’s liking. It is on this matter that Senator Cruz rips Jack Dorsey a new arsehole and it is something that is well worth watching.
