Another Ex-Muslim worth watching. Abdullah Sameer

Although I, as have many others, a profound dislike of Islam and its theology and culture, I have a massive degree of respect for those brought up with Islam and as Muslims who leave this ideology and take a better path. I may not always agree with them politically or with everything they say, but I cannot but admire the strength of character that it takes for Muslims to leave Islam.

Some Muslims are lucky, they can leave Islam with the minimum of fuss. They can leave with their friendship and familial connections intact and not face many problems in leaving Islam. Others however are not so lucky and face death threats and violence because they’ve chosen to leave Islam.

What is interesting is that there seem to be more and more individuals who are, when they are able to and in nations where it is relatively safe to leave Islam, getting out of Islam.

Therefore, because I know the value of free thinkers who come from Islamic environments I believe that they should be supported by anybody who values freedom of speech and freedom of religion including the ability to change or reject a faith. It is also my duty, as I see it, to publicise those who choose a better path in life than that which Islam offers.

Today I’d like to publicise Abdullah Sameer an ex Muslim atheist who is quite active on You Tube and I hope other platforms. I came across him yesterday via this video on why Christians are willing to support ex-Muslim atheists which consisted of Mr Sameer in conversation with an atheist from the channel @TruthWanted. Please watch this video and follow Mr Sameer’s channel. Mr Sameer’s channel can be found via the link below and I’ve also embedded the video that alerted me to Mr Sameer’s existence.

  1. Personally I don’t buy his spiel. He refers to “us muslims” lapsis linguae old speak – Freudian slip

I think in this case this is either because he was once a Dawa merchant or because he is referring in general to the Muslim community. I believe he’s genuine. I’ve looked back at his stuff and he doesn’t give me any odd feelings of falseness.
