From Elsewhere: It’s time for ex-Muslims to rise.

As regular readers of this blog will by now understand, I’m one of those who recognise that there are many people ostensibly within Islam who would desperately like to get out of Islam. My argument has never been with individual Muslims who are kept in Islam out of fear or follow Islam despite being considerably ignorant of what Islam’s scriptures contain or how Islamic scripture and theology has impoverished the Muslim world. My main argument has always been with the ideology of Islam itself and with those who make excuses for it or who try to paint Islam, quite untruthfully I might add, as a religion of peace.

I make a point of keeping an eye on what ex-Muslims are saying and have a particular fondness for Apostate Prophet. This man understands Islam inside out and was once an Islamic theological scholar. In the video below he makes a call for more ex-Muslims to speak out and believes that the time is right for there to be a worldwide outbreak of apostasy from Islam.

Theologically I can see quite clearly that Islam is a religion of slavery and its adherents and clerics do not only enslave or approve of enslaving those from outside Islam, but which also enslaves Muslims themselves. As a follower of a faith that has as one of its defining episodes the escape of the Hebrews from the enslavement of the Egyptians, I look upon how Muslims are enslaved by Islam and am horrified by that. Just as the Hebrews fled from the enslavement imposed on them by the Pharaoh, ex-Muslims need to free themselves from the enslavement of Islam.

In this video Apostate Prophet appeals to all those cowering and lonely ex-Muslims across the world to make use of the internet to tell their stories and I hope that this appeal comes to fruition.

At the start of this new year there needs to be new hope for ex-Muslims and all I can say is that I would dearly love to see 2021 be the year that the ex-Muslims rise and claim for themselves the freedom that they most surely deserve.
