Quote of the day 2nd July 2021. Yes this is definitely really sad.

The citizens of a nation should feel free to wave their national flags. The American’s do, the Russians, the Canadians, the Indians and the French do. Of course there are some nations where the more nationalistic aspects of flag waving is frowned upon, such as Germany and primarily this is because of Germany’s 20th century history, but such concerns do not and should not apply to countries like England.

The English have nothing out of the ordinary to be ashamed of or to feel guilty about. English history is no different from the history of many other nations in that it contains both good bits and bad bits. It also contains parts that we should be extraordinary proud of, such as suppressing the African slave trade, at great cost to the nation and its finances.

The British should not feel ashamed of their flag. They should fly it with the same lack of embarrassment that the citizens of the other Home Nations and those who live in foreign nations have. Unfortunately there are many on the Left who have an ideological animus against England.

This Left, the sort of left described by Orwell as the type of people who would rather steal from a poor box than stand for the national anthem, has managed to unfairly associate the flag of England with ‘racism’. This has a negative effect on both the English and their ability to fly and honour the English national flag.

The commentator Mercy Muroki remarks on how denigrated the England flag has become in English society because of the culture war waged against the English by the Left.

She reported an overheard conversation that is as Ms Muroki described it ‘Quite sad’.

  1. This week I had to go to the Dentist for a check up. It was the day after England’s victory over Germany.
This involved a walk through a typically “enriched” area of a major UK city.
There was not a single George Cross to be seen, but I did spot a few Palestine flags and a couple of Pakistan flags, oh and plenty of Jilbabs and Burkhas.
