Apparently some MP’s cheered the convicted criminal and acid attack threat maker Claudia Webbe when she returned to the House of Commons recently. The political commentator Robert Kimbell said on Twitter about this event:
If you or I committed the sort of offence that Ms Webbe did then we’d probably be locked up in gaol for doing so. Claudia Webbe on the other hand gets to keep her £80k per year job and not only that get applause from fellow MP’s on her return to the chamber.
Could this be yet another example of the so called great and good looking after their own. You are of course right if one of us lowly plebs did such a thing we would be jailed, but we are just lowly plebs and they are the entitled great and good, aren’t they? Forelock touching is optional.
