On the subject of the trustworthiness of our current pretend conservative government.
Looking at the current shambles in Westminster I find that it’s difficult to disagree with that sentiment.

What is really worrying is that “The future’s bright …” might be true …
… by contrast to what a Labour government could well bring.
It’s a choice between two awful stinking turds, Labour or Conservative with the main differentiation being which turd is the most stinky and obnoxious.
Taking Lisa Nandy (about whom you have written) and also Lloyd Russel-Moyle as examples of what Labour has to offer, the prize for “most stinky and obnoxious” belongs to Labour – if only because they have many such more “ripe ones” on offer as well.
