Rishi rearranges the deckchairs on RMS Titanic.

The UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is having a Cabinet reshuffle. So far it’s extremely unexciting and with the exception of the promotion of Kemi Badenoch to Trade Secretary it has all the feeling of being a reshuffle that is so futile that it resembles the act of rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic as it sank.

It has however thrown up one laughable appointment that of Grant Shapps whose been made Secretary of Energy Security and Net Zero. It’s laughable because you can have either one or the other but not both. You can’t have Net Zero and energy security and those who claim otherwise are either completely ignorant of how energy is created, distributed and used or completely wedded to the idea that the country can be powered sufficiently by the inherently unreliable renewables.

The fact that he accepted the post shows that he is not very bright.
