Quote of the Day. 09/02/2023. A saying that probably needs to be revived.

As we live in a time when it is getting easier, because of the constant scandals, to be contemptuous of some Parliamentarians contemptible behaviour, then maybe it’s time to bring back into use an old phrase that earlier Englishmen and women used to show disgust at the antics of Parliament. The phrase below from Samuel Pepys diary describes some peoples dissatisfaction with the Rump Parliament, which was sitting during the Interregnum following the English Civil Wars.

Whilst it is my view a good thing that bad politicians  who have let the nation down badly, should be mocked, especially when there are a lot that have lot to be mocked about, the ultimate goal should be to replace the bad politicians with better ones via the ballot box.
