Would you make peace with people like this?

The world and his wife have opinions on the State of Israel. If there is one thing that can said to be consistent in this world it’s that as well as death and taxes being inescapable so is the multitude of often hostile opinions about Israel and the Middle East in general.

Many of those who voice opinions about Israel believe that Israel should do whatever it takes, even if it endangers the state of Israel itself, to make peace with Arab Muslims. I also want peace, I also want the sons of Ishmael and of Isaac to water their sheep together by the banks of the Jordan River, but I know that it’s impossible and suicidally foolhardy for anybody whether they are an individual or a nation to make peace with those who very publicly call for your death.

For many years, at least since the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germany has been a relatively safe place for Jews. As I say to my child when talking to him about geography and history: Today’s Germans are not the Bad Germans of old, things have changed. But mass immigration into Germany from Islamic nations, some of which have populations have attitudes towards Jews that are positively medieval, has shattered that relative peace.

Now pro-’Palestine’ Muslims organise and noisily demonstrate and these Muslims leave no doubt as to what is top of their hate list and its Jews. These Muslims parade around the German capital Berlin and shout out ‘death to the Jews’ according to a report on the Middle East Forum website.

Middle East Forum said:

A leading Israeli expert on counterterrorism on Sunday urged the German government to outlaw Palestinian NGO Samidoun.

Brig. Gen. (res.) Amir Avivi, chairman and founder of the Israel Defense and Security Forum (IDSF), spoke out after Samidoun’s German branch organized a march in Berlin on April 8 where the mainly German Muslim participants chanted “Death to Jews” and “Death to Israel.”

In October, Mohammed Khatib, the E.U. coordinator for the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, urged the destruction of Israel and the defeat of the U.S., E.U. and Canada, speaking at a rally outside the European Parliament in Brussels.

The Samidoun organisation according to the ME Forum piece is an offshoot of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is designated as a terror organisation by both the United States and the European Union. However despite these bans Samdoun can still seem to operate and I suspect that more needs to be done to counter organisations like this by the German government.

It’s been more than a lifetime since cries of ‘death to the Jews’ last heard in Berlin as they were during the Nazi period. Sadly these cries have come back and they are being uttered not by 1930’s Germans deranged by equally deranged leaders, but by the modern followers of extremist Islam a faith that former German Chancellor Frau Angela Merkel believed could coexist with other faiths within Germany.

If you were an Israeli would you want to make peace with the sort of ‘Palestinians’ that think its OK to call for the death of you and your countrymen and women? I very much doubt that you would. If peace is to come then it will have to come via the route of Arab Muslims no longer wanting to murder Jews.

    No, clearly not.
But in truth these ‘Palestinians’ are only a more overt bunch of haters.
The Koran and Ahadith make it clear that Muslims are to subjugate all non-Muslims, thus whilst Jews are, at present, the perhaps the primary targets of Muslim hate of the “other”, the position of Christians in places like Pakistan, Northern Nigeria, Egypt (to name but three) is much the same. There, too, various orthodox Muslim groups call for the murder of their particular target groups often in response to ‘provocations’ (such as breathing) of course; but – of course – we don’t hear about this in the MSM either, it goes against the “Muslims are victims!” narrative.

Somewhat off topic: the BBC is making quite a big thing about “Astronaut sends Eid greeting from space” and “Eid how it feels to reach the end of Ramadan” along with many articles on Ramadan.
I cannot imagine the BBC making such a meal out of Lent and Easter never mind Jewish fasts.
In fact I did a search on the BBC for articles related to Lent (=5) and Ramadan (= 29 … pages).
Some of the articles on Ramadan (naturally enough) concerned violence in Ramadan, whereas others were more ‘spiritual’ in nature; but it is clear where the BBC’s bias is. It panders to the Muslim ~5% of the population and (by comparison) ignores the order-of-magnitude larger Christian one.
