In my lifetime one of the most positive things that have emerged in the field of child protection is the Childline service. This service, which has been around for decades, has allowed children who are living with abuse or stressful home life situations or who have worries that the feel they cannot bring to their parents or their teachers, to talk about their situation and be pointed in the direction of the help that they may need.
Up until relatively recently Childline has been a pretty uncontroversial organisation. After all helping abused or stressed children and young people get help is a basic moral imperative and something that any reasonable person can get behind no matter what their political, religious or cultural viewpoint may be.
But, according to the therapist and campaigner for the rights of women and children, James Esses, there is now something rotten in Childline. That rottenness is the increasing inclusion in Childline’s policies of the cult of Gender Identity.
Mr Esses is claiming that rather than taking the common sense ‘wait and see’ approach to the gender distress of the children and teenagers that contact the organisation, Childline advisors are immediately and without much hesitation it seems, affirming the gender delusions of the children and young people who call. In effect trans rights activists are pushing their point of view onto Childline’s callers without attempting to inject any balance into the conversation and with no sign that the operator’s supervisors stepping in to stop or dial back the pro-gender identity propaganda.
Mr Esses said:
I have become increasingly concerned by what Childline (as an arm of the @NSPCC) are exposing young, vulnerable and impressionable children to.

A ‘trans guy’ advises her to start hormones without her parents’ knowledge.
No Childline moderator intervenes.
In another Message Board, a young girl asks for advice about sourcing breast binders.
She receives multiple recommendations of places to source them.
No Childline moderator intervenes to highlight the serious harm that breast binders can cause.
Another Message Board features a child who has felt dysphoric in the past but who believes it is a mental health condition.
For this, they are called ‘transphobic’, ‘offensive’ and ‘rude’ by other users.

I agree with those who are astounded and horrified that Childline and by extension the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and Childline has been captured by gender ideology and its promoters. I can’t see this ending well for the children and young people who may quite possibly be put on the gender identity treatment treadmill and end up mutilated, sterilised and deeply, deeply unhappy with the damage that has been done to them.
Like many parents I’ve often put what spare change I have had into the Childline collection boxes as I believe that all children need to be protected from abuse. But having found out that Childline is now colluding with the cult of trans, they will get no more coins from me.
Yes, but with respects, Childline exists to help children who are being abused and more often than not in their own families or by another ‘trusted’ adult. I really don’t think you should be dismissing them as an anti trans cultural warrior, issues affecting only a small minority, whilst ignoring the wider work they do.
Childline existed to do that. It is now corrupted and using that as a base to damage children. It may be small atm but it will grow. It needs to be stopped.

Childline used to be good, not anymore. They have been seen flying the disgraceful Pride Progress Flag which is very closely linked to the extremes of the trans movement, in a Childline counselling room. This is an organisation that has been captured by an ideology.
Children, especially those in distress, deserve better than to have pseudo-scientific ideologies foisted on them which is what Childline is doing at the moment with their pro trans affirmation policy, a policy that is not allowed to be challenged. Some Childline counsellors are advising children how to keep things like puberty blockers and breast binders secret from their parents. This should ring alarm bells as adults telling children to keep secrets in this way is a classic tactic of abusers.
I hope you understand what you are advocating here. You seem to be implying that Childline should be disbanded because they are being gender affirmative in a small number of cases. The majority of requests for help from Childline come from children being sexually abused within their own families, and then by other ‘trusted adults’, and then thirdly by outside offenders.
If you want to shut this service down suggest a viable replacement.
I’m not advocating that Childline is disbanded, only that the purveyors of pseudoscience and ideology are removed from their positions in Childline where they are able to cause harm to children. However they will not get anymore money from me until they turn away from trans ideology.
