The Black Lives Matter organisation – a grift if ever there was one.

It looks like all those who donated money to the Black Lives Matter organisation (BLMO) have been conned. All the brainless White liberals who thought that they were helping Black Americans and the corporates who ‘blackwashed’ their organisations by donating money to BLMO, have been thoroughly shafted.

It turns out that there are reports coming out about how much money BLMO spent on charitable activities. The answer is less than satisfactory. Only a third of money received by BLMO ended up in the hands of charitable organisations and even then it seems that many of the charitable organisations which were given money either had familial or other personal connections to BLMO leaders or were funding causes, such as trans housing ones or Defund the Police, which often made the lives of Black Americans much worse.

The Trending Politics website said:

Public filings unearthed by the New York Post reveal that Black Lives Matter’s national organization distributed approximately $30 million, which accounts for 33% of the nearly $90 million it received in public donations between 2020 and 2022, to charitable foundations.

According to federal filings covering the fiscal years 2020 and 2021 (July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2022), the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF), a non-profit based in Oakland, California, allocated $30,498,722 in grants to black, trans, and anti-police non-profits.

BLMGNF provided grants to individuals associated with its former co-founder, Patrisse Cullors, who resigned from the organization in 2021. Cullors’ brother, Paul Cullors, and Kailee Scales, the group’s former managing director, received salaries from BLMGNF.

Paul Cullors’ security company, Black Ties Security, LLC, received significant payments as a contractor for BLMGNF. Additionally, BLMGNF contributed funds to LGBTQ causes, including the Trans Justice Housing Project and the Reuniting of African Descendants initiative, despite the latter’s revoked non-profit status.

The Love Not Blood Campaign, founded by Cephus “Uncle Bobby X” Johnson, received the largest grant from BLMGNF in 2021. Johnson has a history of collaboration with Cullors and established the campaign in memory of his nephew, Oscar Grant, whose tragic death in 2009 sparked widespread protests.

BLMO has turned out, as many of us expected, to be a massive grift. It was a very effective way for those leading BLMO to either enrich themselves or enrich organisations that probably won’t do much to help Black Americans.

BLMO has been a disaster. It’s been poorly run, has poor financial management and controls and has shovelled money to causes that will probably not help one impoverished Black family, clean up one majority black neighbourhood or stop one Black young person from being killed on the streets in somewhere like Chicago. I expect that BLMO and its shenanigans will end up in numerous court cases and the only beneficiaries from the $90 million dollars gifted to BLMO will be the lawyers.

  1. Pardon me while I laugh.
But I suppose its a neat trick really: get “brainless White liberals” to donate better part of $100M to an organisation that organises riots that destroy black-owned property and businesses, thus immiserating Blacks, whilst enriching the POC organisers of said demonstrations to levels that whilst clearly in line with their dreams (or should I say expectations?) were previously orders of magnitude beyond their capabilities.
It almost sounds like a far-right white-supremacist ploy actually – get blacks who have “internalised” whiteness to immiserate other blacks whilst the black organisers are being hugely enriched themselves by those oh-so-virtuous “brainless White liberals”.
Damn! – I’ve probably given the Woke, intersectional, CRT mob ideas.

But, then again, in their view whatever the problem, racism is the cause, so maybe not.
