From Elsewhere: Brendan O’Neill damns Multiculturalism and he’s right to do so.

Multiculturalism was sold by the Establishment to the British people as just another extension of tolerance. We were told that tolerating and embracing the cultures of those from outside of Britain was little different from the sort of race and colour blindness that many of us grew up with, especially if we grew up in areas where the major economic activity centred around ports and docks.

On matters of faith we were told by successive governments, the education system and the unelected Adminisphere that the strange deities that migrants worshipped were no different from the deity of the Christians and the Jews. In some cases as with many of the Hindus and Sikhs this was broadly correct. These groups did not aggressively proselytise nor did they push their faiths in our faces apart from the Sikhs gaining an exemption on motorcycle helmet law and some Hindus being fanatically vegetarian and these were things that a broadly open society could deal with and accept relatively easily.

Unfortunately multiculturalism really hasn’t worked out that well for either Britain as a nation nor Briton as a people. The application of the ideology of multiculturalism has brought us horror after horror. Its’ s brought us Islamic Rape Gangs, Islamic terrorism and extremism, it has brought us ghettos some of which have become hostile states within states, massive increases in crime along with two tier policing and justice.

Nowhere is the failure of multiculturalism more evident in the Islam inspired Jew hatred marches that Britain has been plagued with since the Pogrom in Israel on the 7th October 2023. These demonstrations which have been attended and supported by Muslims and the extreme Left have broadly been left alone by Britain’s police forces and those participating in them have been allowed to get away with conduct that would have been heavily sanctioned had not the march in question not been mostly Islamic in nature.

Brendan O’Neill of Spiked Magazine took a trip to the now truncated Iranian backed ‘Al Quds Day’ protest in London. In a truly excellent article that is well worth reading, Mr O’Neill spoke about the content of the demonstration and the Holocaust denial that was being spouted there along with the voicing of support for the Iranian regime an entity that is a dangerous enemy of Britain and the West. Mr O’Neill also told of how he was identified by a White Leftist attending this latest Al Quds Day hate-fest and the resulting problems meant that Mr O’Neill had to be escorted away from the demonstration for his own safety.

But for me the standout part of Mr O’Neill’s piece was this one where he lays bare the failures of multiculturalism. Mr O’Neill called the demonstration an ‘indictment’ of multiculturalism.

Mr O’Neill said:

Fundamentally, though, it was the ideology of multiculturalism that was indicted on the streets of London today. There is a tendency to see multiculturalism as merely divisive. If only. The true social cancer in this self-hating creed is that it actively incites hostility towards the nation itself. It simultaneously inflames a culture of grievance within minority groups while heaping sarcastic derision on Britain and its history, giving rise to an extraordinary amount of anti-British, anti-Western, anti-social animus. I glimpsed that today. A bristling hostility towards me not only for my crime of refusing to hate Jews, but also for what I was no doubt seen to represent: whiteness, Britishness, them. “

Mr O’Neill is correct here. Multiculturalism isn’t just an impediment on society by making it more divided, it’s a lethally cancerous ideology that has handed an enormous amount of social and political power to those who hate all that is of us and of Britain. Multiculturalism has failed and it is the British people who are paying the high prices that this terrible idea costs.
