From Elsewhere: No one expects the “Trannish Inquisition”, but it happens.

 

There’s a brilliant account by women’s rights advocate Helen Joyce on her experience of being invited to speak at Durham University about trans issues and their connection to and negative effect on women’s rights.

In her piece she spoke of the necessity for personal security when speaking about trans issues in public, the social and political taboos that have been set up around the trans issue and the battle that the head of Durham’s debating society to even get Ms Joyce to speak.
