The case of the alleged plagiarist and fantasist Professor Jason Arday is one of those stories that are not just running and running but is one that is revealing more and more about the corruption that DEI and DEI inspired hiring is bringing to British institutions and the public sector. Many are aghast at how stupid Cambridge University has been in hiring Arday and seemingly not bothering to check whether or not he was telling the truth about his backstory.

The political commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo has asked a question related to the Arday case that maybe we should all be asking and it is this:

I’d say that the question what Mr Heydel-Mankoo is asking is probably just the tip of the iceberg. If this DEI hiring is a wider problem, which it is likely to be, then there’s likely to be hordes of police officers, council officers, social workers, education policy chiefs, teachers and many many more who have not been hired because of their skills but because their race, gender, sexuality or religion ticks a diversity box. The problem with DEI hiring landing us with incompetent people is likely to be one that goes far beyond just Cambridge University.
